As in the title: where do I post battle reports? General discussion or in the subsection. (Star Wars Legion in SciFi for example)
July 3, 2018 at 8:53 am #1223495I wonder should Battle Reports have a system all of its own (a bit like the warconsole https://kuragecrisis.warconsole.com/ ) or if we add an option to add them as Projects?
That way you can link them directly to the game you are playing.
My gut tells me that a Battle Report is just as much of a project as any other, what do you think?
July 3, 2018 at 9:00 am #1223503The linked warconsole is cool for longer campaigns but for a “one night fight” like I had yesterday surely to much. I’d love a “Battle Report” subsection in the Forum. Projects are more something for “building stuff and maybe teaching”.
July 3, 2018 at 9:40 am #1223527Currently, my idea @sundancer is that you post them as projects and write Battle Report in the title somewhere so folks who are looking through the projects know what they’re looking at.
The project system works fine for it and I think it will add some diversity to the selection we have in there.
July 3, 2018 at 9:47 am #1223532We can also do some interesting stuff with them in projects if they are marked as battle reports (we can filter just them, we can even apply some different graphics and layout options etc)
And keeping it in projects would help avoid what would be a lot of code duplication.
July 3, 2018 at 10:02 am #1223573July 3, 2018 at 10:18 am #1223576Working ok for me (And I’ve added Battle Report to the options list in project Type)
July 3, 2018 at 10:43 am #1223584I would upload a screenshot but I can’t upload pictures. There isn’t even a button for it oO
July 3, 2018 at 10:45 am #1223592What browser are you using and are you running something like an ad blocker?
July 3, 2018 at 10:52 am #1223594I’m running Firefox 61. I just realized that the “mouse over” menus don’t come down on PC so I can’t even log out. On my laptop (also firefox with uBlock Origin) everything works just fine… now how to I get this one cookie killed so that I have to relog in? Brb.
July 3, 2018 at 11:05 am #1223609And back. All cookies deleted, logged in again aaaand same result. But debuggin console shows errors with cloudflare:

July 3, 2018 at 2:30 pm #1223776Thanks, @lloyd and @brennon. I agree about putting battle reports in the projects. So far that’s been how I’ve been doing it and it’s been working great. 😀
Forums are a less attractive prospect at the moment because topics aren’t cycling to the top of the front page (again – they were for a time but not after yesterday’s fixes). So the odds of anyone seeing your battle report who isn’t already following are pretty nil.
That said, forums are great for “support threads” or more interactive campaigns because other people can post images, etc., which they can’t do in a project.
July 3, 2018 at 3:07 pm #1223806@oriskany I ‘ve just checks the forums code to cycle to the home page and it still seems to be functioning.
However there is a cache that can cause a delay in the list being updated (its not real time and can take a few minutes for the cache to expire and be rebuilt)
But it definitely looks like it’s working 🙂
