Two of my favorite things … ever … in wargaming – USMC in the Pacific, and Battlegroup.

Awesome table.  The terrain, the buildings, and the equipment load out of the USMC suggests an Okinawa table?

I agree Tarawa would be a great game, but Tarawa was an extremely tiny island with some very specific terrain features.  The Buddhist statue, vegetation, no airfield, and winding road reminds me more of Okinawa.  For Tarawa we’d want that bloody sea wall, too, and perhaps some Amtracks for the Marines (at least first wave).  Also, to my knowledge the Japanese defenders on Tarawa were Special Naval Landing Force, not Army (a force of Korean laborers was there as well).

That’s Top Secret… but it’s gonna be… different. The US players will have no clue what they will be facing…

Also going to have a campaign system… a Tour of Duty so to speak.

@piers Is it going to operate a little like Charlie Company used to?

Loved your Ambush Valley. So, just so I know what to start painting up.. will this game be more like Chain of Command or Battlegroup in scope/scale? No more questions now.. mums the word. Carry on, pip pip cheerio and all that rot.

Will be very much squad and platoon style focus, small unit actions.

@torros very fond of Charlie Company, but no… this will be rather different. We want to first concentrate on the patrol war… the search & destroy… and bring out all the nuances that go with it.
