I admit, the Kindle Device is not the best in the world but I have used one for years to read the BoW website. I don’t have money for a real tablet. Over the last month + this site has become very slow. Much slower than I remember in the past.
On my PC there also seems to be a lag but not enough to complain about.
I am in the East Coast of the USA so not sure if this may be Cloudflare issue a CDN issue or some new script you have for checking web stats but the entire site is very slow for me. My ISP is 300mb/s down and 20mbs up. There no other hobby related sites where I have this issue be it in the USA, CAN or EU. I can hit content in AUS faster than BoW.
This is not just a particular page, the entire site including login and posting to articles. I have even seen timeouts with login and posting.
I am willing to accept it could be a Kindle issue, but I am not seeing it anywhere else but this website.
Not sure anything could be done but thought I would report it anyway.
January 5, 2023 at 7:37 am #1795805It’s not you. It’s OTT. The site is very *very* slow for some weeks now. Using a kindle doesn’t make it better in any way shape or form but it’s not the cause.
In it’s current form OTT has a big performance issue. All we can do is hope that someone in charge pokes someone “in the tech know” to make it better. :S
January 5, 2023 at 5:28 pm #1795938Glad it’s not just my PC making it slow to load.
I often open another browser tab while this website loads as it can take a very long time.
January 5, 2023 at 11:30 pm #1795990Wow! Okay, thanks guys for responding, hopefully someone on the BoW tech team can address this. Hope you guys are having a good New Year.
January 11, 2023 at 5:27 pm #1796960The site is incredible slow again today. Is there anyone looking at this or is Wayland about to pull the plug?
January 19, 2023 at 1:41 pm #1797981Looks like things are working smoothly again, thank you to whomever made the fix.
January 19, 2023 at 3:08 pm #1797982Seems to vary by time of day @turbocooler so I would hold off saying fixed… could just be low traffic.
