Finished the armor and did some clean up work on the surrounding areas. If it wasn’t for the 30 minute a day challenge I doubt I would have gotten any work done tonight.

OK, so slow progress.  I decided to wrk on the “spirits” first as these seem to be the most straight forward and I admit to NOT being a great painter.  Initially I thought I’d go for a “mist/fog” look in shades of grey and white, but after several coats of dry brushing in increasing amounts of whiteness, I didn’t;t like to look. So I switched to mixing blue and red contrast paint to create a purple (I don’t have purple!) and a couple of coats later I colored in the patches where the |cloaks” are broken in black, finishing off with highlighting the “threads” with pale flesh.  I image their cloaks of fear are stitched with the flesh of people they have consumed. I still have the bases to finish but can’t decide on a color yet – probably black, but we’ll see. I travel tomorrow so will catch up in a week.  So pictures.

Top picture is a previously completed test model, just to show my desired scheme. The bottom is 30 minutes of laying down some of the base reds tonight.

I have been painting up some of the alien models from the board game by GF9. These are done with the colour shift paints but they dont show up well on the flat image. I think these paints work well on this type of model.

Things seem to have slowed down a bit – after nearly an hour (well, however long an episode of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year lasts) and it doesn’t look like much has changed; but if you know where to look, quite a bit has too!

I’m calling the guy on the right done. Tomorrow’s 30-minute session will be to glue some static grass onto some 32mm bases so I can properly base these guys as I call each one finished. Wooop woop! Painted *and based* miniatures? This 30-minutes a day thing was a great idea!

Got the first red basecoat down on on most of the models tonight. I’m hoping to have more time tomorrow after work and finsh all the red and start on fur. Still, progress!

I applied a wash today ? sorry I was hoping to get a little more done today but dry time was longer than I thought. The wash consists of a 50/50 blend of P3 caspian and cossite flesh wash. I like the look a lot it is lighter than the last 5 I painted and I think it looks more natural if the skin tone are not so matching.
I just want to thank everyone who is following and a special thanks to those of you that are posting your work. Thank you all very much ?

The two on the right are the darker skin tones I painted last weekend and the two on the left are the miniatures I am currently painting in the lighter skin tones.
