Noticed the old rules have been up for sale at a discount. Will be interesting to see what changes have been made. The whole New Faction came out of nowhere (I wonder if we will also see them in DropZone Commander as well)

I suspect we will see them in both Dropzone commander as well as Striketeam Commander (when that kickstarter launches).

Technically the new faction didn’t come out of nowhere as it apparently has been mentioned in background stories according to their info.

I’m not sure if the dropfleet universe needed a new faction as all current ones had their own unique flavour.

I did wonder if there would be something in striketeam for the new faction. Watching the start of video made me think they were going to something like the tyranids with everything bio engineered and ships being alive as well but the art with their ships doesn’t seem to reflect that. I look forward to hearing some more about their background.

Still I should really finish painting all the dropfleet ships I have from the original Kickstarter.

More than that I got an A5 rulebook free with a Carnevale order today – with a “new version coming” sticker on but they’re properly clearing out the old.

Aren’t the shaltari some kind of alt-human variant ?

In fact … aren’t all factions humans or human+ ?

We’ll have to wait and see what and how this new faction will be in-game.

and yeah … I technically have the entire dropfleet commander thing to do as well 😀
Heck, dropfleet commander is kind of what made me think of war room and a table with led lights to begin with.
(I’m still not sure when/if I’m going to add that part to my project. I’d also want to focus on getting things done for once)

Looking forward to seeing what they do with it, I love the minis but will admit to never actually playing a game, in theory I like a lot of its concepts but when I’ve seen battlereports it always seems very “gamey” and “alpha strikey” but that could be the players.

The new faction have secretley been around for a while, with a event exclusive mini I cant remember the exact name but it was something like the unknow vessel or the like. I dont think OTT did a written post but in one of the events coverage (and ive seen at salute) a new plastic sprue for them, along with a new UCM sprue. I’ve a feeling that might be the new starter set.

Ah Yes it was The Anomaly, I think I have it in my stash somewhere. Rather cool to see whats been a  limited event model turn into a whole new faction.
