The spam filter currently hates me posting on the forums… Hopefully this works!
September 8, 2019 at 8:17 pm #1433843Still sticking Infinity stuff together and have put NO paint on those Traktor Muls. I told you they are cursed! Every time I have planned to paint them ‘something’ happens. I have 2 more of the new minis to build and I am done. I’m as behind as a cow’s tail today, but i’ll get caught up.
So far…
Sorry about the quality of the pictures!
September 8, 2019 at 8:18 pm #1433844@robert – even more disgusting than before. 300pts. This is going to be a heavy paint job!
September 8, 2019 at 8:40 pm #1433846September 8, 2019 at 8:41 pm #1433847Time to put the boards away. I still have to add brush and bits of flock within the rocks themselves, but will wait until the flock that’s already on there dries.
One of my favourite movies with a number:
Time for a lie down… then schoolwork. I’ll catch up later.
September 8, 2019 at 9:00 pm #1433849Here is the patient…
September 8, 2019 at 9:07 pm #1433850@ceppie – an awesome movie, but then again it is Clint Eastwood. 300pts. I love ‘The Outlaw Josie Wales’. Pure class. The best line, “…don’t be pissin’ down my back then tell me it’s raining!”
The ‘ruins’ look really effective! 500pts. What next?
I wonder if this is a real grave marker?
September 8, 2019 at 9:15 pm #1433852Nasty alien with a HMG. What more could you ask for?
I need to stick on an ink wash before I take pictures.
September 8, 2019 at 9:26 pm #1433863Question for all the computer nerds: is there a programme that I can use to make simple isometric drawings and plan stuff out with. Nothing spectacular and it must be idiot proof x2!
September 8, 2019 at 9:30 pm #1433864September 8, 2019 at 10:02 pm #1433866@mage – our weekend never ends! It is the show that never ends. Get going…
September 8, 2019 at 10:11 pm #1433868September 8, 2019 at 11:00 pm #1433872@mage better late than never, but you have some catching up to do!
@ceppie that table looks great, you should start a project to log updates.
@robert that is some seriously nice sculpting work. I am absolutely rubbish at sculpting and I always get a bit jealous when I see stuff like that
@unclejimmy it’s amazing how much time you can kill assembling infinity stuff. Out of curiosity what glue do you use and do ever pin the pieces together?
Well I ended up “working” today. I just got a storage unit and had to move a load of stuff into it out of the garage. Then I made dinner (duck breast if you’re wondering). But I did manage to get a little bit of stuff done. First I finished basing these “cave lizards” (they’re komodo dragons from Gringo 40’s) for use in an upcoming RPG session. Because of the sheer amount of stuff I need to get done for that game a lot of it, these included, are being contrast painted. For whatever reason I decided to have a little bit of fun with the bases though and created little cave bases for them all. I think it helps them look more like cave Lizards and less like komodo dragons
As well as that, I also managed to paint this fellow. He’s the “Last Viking” from Wargames Illustrated however is is intended for use as someone’s character so he will be referred to as Seebor, the character’s name. As useful as Contrast Paints are this is where enjoyment lies. Cracking open the nice brush, building up layers and highlights.
Basing will have to wait unfortunately as the basing materials I have ordered aren’t here yet. I ordered some stuff from Geek Gaming as they appear to have a really good set of basing materials. I will post images when they arrive and I finish it off.
September 8, 2019 at 11:21 pm #1433874One last thing before I go to bed. @unclejimmy you said you wanted two different types of Infinity board, one indoors and one with multi level. You could do worse than Battle Systems sci fi scenery as this can do both, although you might need a couple of sets.
If you want serious verticality try something like this bad boy from Wargames model mods. Be warned though, it’s MDF and its a serious undertaking to build and paint. And store.
September 9, 2019 at 9:51 am #1433973@mage – are you drunk? Does “going” = “having a wee chug” or “doing dirty stuff with a lady”?
@onlyonepinman – I could build that while I was having a wee chug! MDF rules. I am surprised Wacoshop hasn’t realised they are missing a massive market. I used to love their ‘Cityfight’ range of buildings (we had loads of them), but when you take them outside of 40K then they are useless.
I find Infinity models really quick and easy to assemble. Very little to clean-up on them and most of the time you play “hunt the mould line” rather than them being really obvious.
Maybe it is because I have small, girly hands! I use Poundland superglue (lick the opposite side before you join them) and I can only think of twice I have needed to pin anything. One of them was the Combined Army TAG, the other was one of Jamie’s PO Remotes. In defence of Corvus Belli they are both quite old sculpts with some quite unusually shaped bits – AND NO FU**ING INSTRUCTIONS!
The parts as usually small enough that a bit of glue, then paint, will keep them in place unless you are a bit rough with them. Don’t use thicker glues either.
Duck for lunch. Nice, I do like a bit of Duck. Not that keen on other game birds. I tried Quail once…no thanks.
The Lizards are quite fightening. I would not like to bump into one of those! I love the fungi on the bases. 500pts.
Your Viking minis is stunning. 300pts. Great pose. The armour is very effective too. Impressive stuff.
