My “official shipping notice” came by email today, so it should be soon.

got an email today as well.

no tracking info, but I’m sure things will work out eventually.

@tokyoghoul I thought the minimum engagement size was something like a squad, with the full platoon (or is it company?) only coming into play at the highest threat level.

@collins ah yes … one more project to start that won’t be completed can’t hurt. 😀

Play size will depend on the mission and the threat level…

But you only ever have your platoon at most (and a few possible support elements).

In one of our playtest campaigns, don’t think I ever had the entire platoon on a mission together.

The initial product description misled me into believing the game was entirely about platoon-sized engagements, which now appears to be the exception rather than the rule. (Though the campaign, if one chooses to play it, is about leading a platoon through a tour of duty).

The rules also state that the game can be set in any year of the war, though in this case the absence of rules for the NVA – thus far – will surely present a problem.

@tokyoghoul – maybe you can use the rules as a jumping off point… and modify them for your needs. Mechanics are mechanics, rules are on paper, not cut in stone.

Very true. I must try to be less literally minded.

Canada Post is on strike. Like 5 days now. So my book is … somewhere…

    Can’t wait to see it!

Hopefully it will arrive soon, I’m slowly reading through it as I need to build up and assemble forces for it.

So far I’m enjoying what I’m seeing, the campaign system looks fun and games can at times be a single squad from the platoon.

    Got mine too 😀

I think they used an extra slow boat to get it over here, because it’s been two weeks since the email that it was shipping.

What had me confused was that when I got the package from the pickup point today. The info from DHL that told me to pick it up didn’t list ‘plastic soldier company’ as the sender (or the size) so it wasn’t until I opened it that I knew what it was.

Time to read and cue that Tour of Duty soundtrack for inspiration 😀
