It’s Starfinder that I have backed, but I still very much doubt I will get the option because I am not an Archon backer. However it may be that as part of any legal proceedings Archon are given the stock as part of some kind of compensation deal (because they are highly unlikely to receive cash) which I would also include permission to sell them. I’m not really expecting to get anything at all however it would seem a colossal waste to simply dispose of the miniatures (I know that liquidators don’t really take any of that into consideration and to them landfill is a perfectly acceptable outcome).
February 26, 2019 at 4:04 pm #1354307For liquidators, the landfill seems to be highly preferable to the other option that is paying for warehousing. Liquidators hate paying for anything.
February 26, 2019 at 4:32 pm #1354321However in this particular case, it looks like the stock is in Poland. Liquidators would have to pay to ship it
February 26, 2019 at 6:55 pm #1354417there’s also the issue that ND isn’t in liquidation, and even if Archon tried to push them into it I bet it would take longer than they’ve got before the tax bill comes due,
especially considering that the court would then have to appoint a liquidator who would have to do a detailed investigation into the books before it did anything else
(and discounting the US chapter 11 rules which I don’t understand well enough but seem to be an extra layer of protection for a company with big debts that wants to try and trade its way out of trouble)
so realistically anything that’s going to happen to the stock is going to be something mediated by ND/Archon (& Paizo for Starfinder)
February 26, 2019 at 7:54 pm #1354423I think the odd thing here is that ND aren’t bankrupt … which probably means that they’re still looking at options.
The update from Archon seems to suggest that there is some form of mediation happening.IMHO a bankruptcy would have put an end to the uncertainty.
February 26, 2019 at 10:33 pm #1354460They’re not in liquidation but it’s a distinct possibility. They’re not bankrupt yet, but they can’t be far from it. I’m sure ND are looking into possibilities but I doubt their IPs and assets are enough to cover their debts which means that they’re not a particularly attractive purchase option. They clearly don’t have enough money to pay Archon so I can’t see them releasing the miniatures to ND.
April 6, 2019 at 9:18 am #1372603Relic Knight just released a print&play download to backers in their last update.
It’s not perfect (and there is a deadline for downloading), but it is something and we can play the game with a bit of effort.
The kit contains :
- Relic Knights 2.0 Digest rulebook
- Full set of esper cards for print and play
- Foldable Terrain from the core box to print and assemble
- A FULL set of unit cards featuring ALL the factions and units from the starter set and the main game.
The new cards and some new artwork will be hidden in amongst the content - A FULL set of print and play unit POGS to represent units and miniatures to try out and play with any unit combination and cadre build
If you are a backer for Relic Knights then I’d suggest you make sure to download as soon as possible, because the update says the link will be unavailable next month (7-5-2019)
April 6, 2019 at 3:53 pm #1373036Im kind of glad i did not get super into any games this company did. And that I got my kickstarter board game space western, whose name I cannot remember, at all. Despite the delay of a couple of years (well it felt that long, cant remember how long it was).

May 15, 2019 at 8:13 pm #1391031Humble Bundle has a Print & Play bundle for Ninja Division games.
May 15, 2019 at 9:26 pm #1391069yep. I got the kickstarter update.
Current status according to the update sent to Railraiders backers (and I’m sure their other kickstarters will get the same text):
… Our first goal has been to chop down moneys owed to our primary Masterclass manufacturers as part of our plan, the profits have gone entirely to remove over ½ of our owed debt to them, and we should be clear by the end of the month. This has previously prevented movement on our KS obligations, and we are making our first leg of progress with your help….
All content available on this campaign (the bundle that is) has been available to you, the backers as updates, downloads, or as a physical product..
(emphasis mine)
So this is part charity and part to generate extra cash for Ninja division.
These are print&play products.
This is on top of their ‘masterclass’ project that’s being used to fund finalization of their kickstarters.Say what you will but they are committed to finishing things. I’m sure others would have simply filed for bankruptcy by now.
// edit
Relic knights adds this :
“… Launching Friday on our website, our first Masterclass figure for Relic Knights backers. With an additional hero joining the fight in June! Meet the Alabaster Automata. …”
May 16, 2019 at 9:54 am #1391158There’s been no additional update on the Starfinder Kickstarter.
July 22, 2019 at 12:25 pm #1416941Something very interesting popped up on my Facebook feed this morning. There’s been no official announcement that I can see regarding the fate of the Star Finder miniatures and as far as I am concerned I am still treating this as a failed project and whatever money I spent has been lost. However it would appear that Northstar Figures have a selection of Star Finder miniatures bearing startling resemblance to those from the Ninja Division kickstarter.
http://www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=276&cat=673&page=1
This is anything but the complete range, in fact it’s a tiny fraction of the Kickstarter range and they’re only available as pre-painted models. However one does wonder how those items made their way into the North Star catalogue, whether the any more will appear and whether any unpainted ones will become available in the future.
July 22, 2019 at 12:32 pm #1416942@onlyonepinman I think those have been on the Northstar site for at least 3 or 4 months, I seem to remember it from an old newsletter – they mentioned pre-paints being something very new for the,. Given the discount on them, they must not have sold very well.
July 23, 2019 at 10:42 am #1417286It’s only the ships that are discounted – which doesn’t surprise me as I can’t really see them being a massive seller. The other two sets were full price
