Heather wants to watch some TV and have a foot rub. Oh, the horror! Thank you for your time again. I will be doing some stuff tomorrow if you are hanging around. I got sidetracked today, but tomorrow I am alone until 2000hrs.
Until then, some moozik…
(brilliant film)
(the song is at the end and the lyrics are really moving…I think)
July 22, 2019 at 9:42 pm #1417139I am not really a geek or a nerd. To prove this I will be messing with KSP to make a better CSM and LEM.
July 23, 2019 at 3:32 am #1417163Just as I say no Kickstarters or anything like that for the rest of the year – They seem to have a cunning (as in as cunning as a fox who is a professor of cunning at Oxford) to get some money out of me …
A CB – Infinity Kickstarter, I’ll give up and order some more bookshelf …
July 23, 2019 at 5:03 am #1417164Apologies I haven’t been keeping up … I will catch up with everyone in the morning EST.
July 23, 2019 at 5:22 am #1417165Sorry for being AWOL for most of this. Had a busy day today, so all I got done was test bases for some minis. Once the gloss on the base edge is dry I will try and take pics, but my phone camera isn’t great and the lighting is a bit terrible at this time of night/morning. 😛
July 23, 2019 at 5:35 am #1417166Ok, here’s a picture. I did three tests just to see how it looks with some of the different colours in my army and I must say I quite like it. Definitely contrasts nicely with the black armour of the Inquisitor and the Assassin.
July 23, 2019 at 6:16 am #1417167The build for my workshop/bedroom to put up my paint racks and some storage shelves is underway. I picked up some furring strips (not related to anything anthropomorphic), a stud locator and a pricey drill. In my haste to try and get this project done I forgot to grab a 9V battery for the locator. Really such a small thing when carrying so much else in my hands.
I’ve gone through one run of setting up some cut down strips on the wall and changed my mind on the dimensions in seeing a test placement. Thankfully the lumber is small enough to be useful for other projects around my place. I’ll go back tomorrow and grab another one cut to longer lengths. The 1”x2” dimensions really make this simple.
@unclejimmy I still put my money on the inspiration for Funkadelic. Its rather fun to know that the craft became a museum piece.
@cpauls1 Ooo… Resin goodness and Death by Cuteness
@sundancer Yes.. and we all know what kind of craziness the seasons can get up to from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Eventhough it hasn’t hit autumn its a grand time to put that wool I sent to use. It was sock weight and there are plenty of feet in your house that need to keep warm. As far as relaxing, I understand as I’m unemployed and looking again for work. The other side of the coin is not any shinier.
Ahh… too many posts for me to keep up with as I do things. I shall throw forth some music and let the brainwaves of you my fellow hobbyists be held in awe.
Since last time I caught something pretty cool as I just went hiking.
Mellowout/happy time to order
This is the part of the thread where we stare into the void of space and let the aural trip take over
Falling into outerspace? I can fix that
July 23, 2019 at 10:21 am #1417273Well, it is another sunny day here at Unclejimmy towers. In fact, I think there is a solar flare outside! It is supposed to be super-hot today and you are advised to keep your animals indoors. So, extra early Puggy walks tomorrow when I have the beasts. Lola is off to have her eyes checked tonight and have her ‘cone’ removed. She had a graft on the eye a few months ago and we discovered she he slightly ingrowing eye-lashes which will scratch the eyes again. Anyway, all sorted. Her eyes looked horrific at first, but that was just the stitches.
That was a couple of weeks ago.
@sundancer – oh, sorry. BUPA is UK private medical care. The people I used to work for pay for all my medical stuff. The family too. It was especially good when I needed two operations.
What is ‘duckduckgo’? Is it a take-away for farmers?
@rasmus – are you STILL funding the entire Kickstarter industry? You just can’t help it! 20pts. I would love to see all the stuff you have bought over the last three years…
@oriskany – no probs. You are an extra busy guy. It is supposed to be the hottest day of the year today so I have the doors open and blinds closed! Heather is off to see her mum after lunch so I have the rest of the day to mess about with bits of metal and wood.
@crazyredcoat – we can call this a ‘test’ for next weekend! 50pts.
I love the Apothecary! 100pts. Tasty. Not keen on the new assassins, but nice paint job.
@horati0nosebl0wer – as I scrolled down I thought someone was being cruel! 50pts. That is really impressive.
Some of that type of music is just noise to me. That is rich from someone who likes the ‘Jesus and Mary Chain’, but the same effect can be got by drinking two bottles of Thunderbird with two Asprins in it then putting your foot through 3-4 car windows. Dave has all the synths and stuff to make his own sounds. He is really good, but it is just not for me.
July 23, 2019 at 10:27 am #1417279@unclejimmy https://duckduckgo.com/ an alternative search engine I primarily use to avoid feeding the big ones.
July 23, 2019 at 10:37 am #1417283@unclejimmy Knitting is great, wish I had of taught myself earlier, I might be capable of knitting myself socks by now! Learning to do some cable is next on the agenda, might look good for Celtic, Saxon or Space Wolf dice bags! My hobby shed is currently coming down with German armour, I even have a Maus for those “what if” moments. I’m sure there is someone more in need of them than me!
July 23, 2019 at 11:34 am #1417304Good to see you back and on form @unclejimmy.
July 23, 2019 at 1:42 pm #1417362i have a hunch that these harlequins have been sprayed with hammerite or some thing similar
July 23, 2019 at 2:13 pm #1417393@tuffyears oh dear! I find Dettol is pretty decent at removing primer as well, especially polyurethane primers. Is it a very thick coat?
July 23, 2019 at 2:32 pm #1417427Sorry, @unclejimmy. It’s not a secret. But agreed she was fantastic in Bad Education.
Interview went well, find out by end of this week.
Some pictures of contrast painted pox walkers and my Trident Realms Warband for Vanguard.
Did I hear you like rock music? Well you are in for a treat.
July 23, 2019 at 2:38 pm #1417429Good Morning All!
I’m back to the grind. Didn’t have time to take any individual shots of mini’s last night as I crashed almost immediately when I got home. I was shy on sleep from the rave on the weekend, and was sunf*cked from being outside all weekend. I keep forgetting I’m not in my 20’s and 30′ anymore, when I could happily hump a rucksuck through the hubs of hell or spend all day on the beach.
@limburger The right grip on a motorcycle is the throttle, so you need to use that hand to steer. That’s also where the front brake is. The left is just a grip, and the clutch is on that side. Still, you could have a weapon in your left hand if you’re not changing gears. In the end, I guess it’s better than those idiotic fork mounted weapons *rolls eyes*. I would rather have the weapons tucked away, or only used if one or both feet are on the ground i.e. the bike is stopped.
@rasmus I feel your pain when it comes to Kickstarters! “Hmmm… should I eat this week or support this medieval alien/Halfling hybrid series of miniatures?” No brainer. I’m kinda proud of my restraint: I actually only supported one Kickstarter this year, the Rampart Cathedral thingie. Pledged three sets initially, but bought a fourth in the pledge manager — plastic crack.
@unclejimmy Rufus is a sweetie! I like those kind of quirky traits in animals. Joplin took a round out of our dog yesterday when she got too close to her kittens. They’re three months old now, but she is still very protective, and a barn rescue, so knows how to look after business. The cats have figured out how to work around the dog. Most of the time they live in the old chicken coop, where I’ve put their food and water, but I also have goodies for them on the table in the back yard. This morning all three of them greeted me from the roof of the house. I just need to figure out a way to get them socialized before winter. Any suggestions? Anyone?
Here’s some of the Victoria Miniatures bits I used for my navy crewmen:
I picked up the female versions as well, as we have had several female players in the past. Some don’t enjoy gaming, but it’s the best way of keeping track of their husband, and they can get fed and get snoggered for free on our homemade wine and ‘shine.
I think most of the weapons and arms came from Victoria Miniatures as well.
@crazyredcoat Great job on those mini’s! Is there any chance of getting a closer look? 🙂
@horati0nosebl0wer Do you have any pics of your shop? I have to live vicariously through you and @rasmus until I can find space for mine!
@seldon9 Good to see you here! Are you still making dazzling Infinity terrain?
Back to work. 30+ Celsius again today. That’s 90+ Celsius for those of you keeping track at home. I shouldn’t whine. That’s probably sweater weather for @oriskany and @gladesrunner .
