@sundancer I didn’t know that about the video. All I knew was that their name was related to an airshow disaster at the Rammstein airfield.

Besides … there’s never such a thing as a typical anything. I’m certainly no weed smoking, XTC eating Dutch person. 😀

I gots my digital bootcamp kit … and it had candy (’cause I ate ’em all).

    COG_Hearts

I’m wondering if that means I’m now infected with the CoG virus or something … *eep*

It’s too late for me, but it may not be too late for my fellow cultists.

Okay, I promised pics and progress …

It’s time for another big Darkstar game!  We have four factions in this one, with players on both sides of the pond!  Given the date, I decided to just for fun to have Earth’s moon on the table (that’s the moon to scale, 180 km to the hex), with three orbital cities overhead, named for the three astronauts of Apollo 11.  Also, gotta have at least one American ship in the mix, hence USS Princeton.

Interested in checking it out and hanging out as we game live on the web?  Ping me a PM and I will send you a link to our web conference (we start at about 1730 UK Time today).

    Full project here:

Darkstar Live Game – Apollo 11 Commemorative -1730 UK Time 20 July

@unclejimmy :  Bloody hell, Heather has had more girlfriends than me! – That sounds awesome.  I sometime joke with @gladesrunner:  “If you ever sleep with another man, you and I are gonna have a big fight.  If you ever sleep with another woman, we’re f***ing FINISHED because you didn’t invite me!” 😀 😀 😀

@limburger that got to you really quick!

Also I have never seen this stuff before… UV superglue, makes no sense to me.

So had a look at the game room to grab some dice and to snap a pic or two of my new hideaway.

But before I try to add order to the chaos… let’s move some spaceships around 🙂

So late night shifts are NOT conducive to hobby, and I don’t have any days off until Monday. Hobby progress goes poorly. I can’t wait to be back in school…though I still won’t have much time. 😛 So far, the only ‘hobby’ thing I’ve done is pop up to my brother’s place because he lives just across from the local-ist gaming store/place. We try and play there as often as we can, but with my schedule it doesn’t always work out. I did get super glue, though…so that’s a thing! Sorry for the lack of pictures, chaps, but I just haven’t had the time. Have some Electric Six as a consolation.

I pledge to get work done on my ork Blood Bowl team. Its a great time to do so without much distraction from the housemate being away on business.

I’ve been away for a bit so “how do’s” might be in order but I’ll jump in anyway with having watched the latest season of Stranger Things recently. Outside of that it was work work work in the hinterlands without video streaming and limited internet (not such a bad thing).
The week has been well as I quit my job building explosives and now in pursuit of a new one. Besides that I’m catching up on some YouTube (notably OTT videos and some news) and have gotten a new Rx for glasses.
Summer is hot and means having a basement is great to retreat to sometimes.
Met my first girlfriend at an anime convention. Best thing of the relationship was learning more things in life. As far as making a fool of myself, I really don’t remember.
Stuff in passing since last you were here? I can say since the last time I was here I’ve managed to see more of my own country that I’d probably never voluntarily go out to find (landscape pics in transit forthcoming).
Genre change for gaming might be in order for me. I’ve played Malifaux and Bloodbowl as regular tabletop gaming. I’ve become interested in Necromunda as a parallel to Mordheim way back when. As far as RPGs I’m pretty flexible as long as the game theme is consistent. Having played a GURPS campaign that was essentially the old show Quantum Leap with little/no consistency where my character didn’t fit was pretty bad.

@unclejimmy Looks like the Pug Life chose you. Ladybaby and Baby Metal? A thread with a musical beginning I can get behind.

    pug-life

@oriskany You say Late Cretaceous as fossil records prove that it might’ve been earlier. Tales From the Farside proves this with numerous dinosaur cartoons. I might have a few cameos in the caveman portions so don’t worry.

@crazyredcoat I believe they’ve been up previously. I remember commenting that the album (who has albums other than edm and turntablist fans?) cover art looked like post-apoc furry barbarians fighting Necrons.

@limburger I believe that the Japanese have invented things called the waifu/husbando that count as girlfriend/boyrfriend. There was a gentleman that proved that people can even marry them *gasp.

About that Rammstein-Deutschland … I bring you the best response (possibly appreciable by the history buffs and weebs among us). I recommend following on to the “Loli vs Wehrmacht“ video for a completely accurate historical account of how the German army faced and defeated Japanese loli forces in battle.

My musical addition…. a different kind of heavy bass that I bring for today

And now a case of heresy… since that heresy train didn’t have brakes

    heresy

For those bearing mental scars after that last entry I offer the ear balm of

Now to get some stuff done for a bit and I’ll come back with more responses and such

@robert I don’t know what the norm is for packages from the UK, so it was neither quick nor slow from my perspective.
Maybe tracked packages get priority ?

I think I’ve seen UV powered glue in one of those silly TV shop commercials.
Google shows there are also professional glue variants that use UV for curing.
As such it probably is only new to us consumers. What little info I could google suggests taht the specific frequency of the UV light does appear to be critical, so I do wonder if that tiny UV led will do the trick.  It’s a bit like that UV curing resin.

I’m all confused now but nothing new there @limburger!

Anyway, been a productive day.  Tiny Germans just need based and a matt varnish.  Should get that done tomorrow.  I’m going to paint up these Treemen for my 10mm fantasy!

Now we seem to be cooking! Good effort everyone. I’ll be stuck-in more tomorrow, but I need a bath and some milk right now.

@cpauls1 – you used that because you know I love tanks! Tasty stuff. It has plenty of firepower too.

Well, you are another who has done enought time to get away with murder. It’s fine, my dad still has access to the piggory. We didn’t start a milita either…

    militia meeting (edit)

I am sure if I look hard enough I can find some stuff to fall off when you hit those trees! Let me see. Nice helmets. 20pts.

Over the last few months I have developed a taste for big trucks too. Russian ones. I started a games called ‘Mudrunner’ where you drive trucks and deliver logs. You never get over 30mph as the terrain is pure evil. You wouldn’t beast recruits over it!

You have a PC hat? Oh, it was a joke! You had me there…100pts. Bollocks to all this LGBTQII2SWW mince. Everytime I come out of the woods it gets worse. you couldn’t make this stuff up either. I saw the most hideous thing that was being promoted as “normal” – an 11 year-old boy who is a drag queen. He uses the name “Desmond is Amazing”. “Desmond is Abused” would seem more appropriate, but strange things become normal when a civilisation is in decline.

    Try to stay positive…

I do like the grumpy looking guy on the right. He must be the driver! That could have been me.

    1. So nothing changes. I suggest a longer lens! If you have never watched paedophile hunyers on YouTube then it is a must watch. I have lost entire mornings just listening to the excuses. You woul dhave a fit listening to them. They would make great “how-not-to” videos for Interrogation students. It also helps to re-enforce the sterotype of the pedo being a ‘dirty park-ranger’. They have even caught people who get arrested, questioned, bailed, and caught again a few days later!

Try the ‘Chenobyl’ 5-parter. Heavy, but fantastic. I remember it. We didn’t get contaminated according to the government, but if you went to Dundee you could get Radio 2 on a pint of milk. True story.

Joke: Two cows talking in a field. Ones says, “Are you worried about this Mad Cow disease?” The others says, “Not really, i’m a fish!”

    2. Stolen Valour. Good one. I hope you gave him a dig too. 100pts. I have seen these people on YouTube. Navy SEALS with more medals than Captain America, but dressed like a bag of shit. I remember someone like that here, but the name escapes me for the moment. What is the point? Does he want my PTSD?

Oh, “space shuttle door gunners” is awesome. 100pts.

As punishment they should be forced to hump an Airbourne course. No jack wagon either!

    3. The ‘daycation’ should be compulsory. 20pts. We plan on doing some bimbling while Heather if off. No Puggies today, but I have them next week. We have been to see Heather’s mum today as she is 83.

For my birthday day-out we are heading over to my parents to go down the river!

    4. “About 20 of us were packed into a motel room for a weekend party and…”, your Honour! It sounds like the intro to an episode of “Law & Order: SVU” My first girlfriend delivered the newspapers to my grandmothers house, but used to go to the stables to work with the horses too. A newspaper girl in Johds is beyond temptation. I used to date a homeless girl, but I dumped her…she never invited me back to her place. 1000pts.

    5. How the bloody hell does that work? I was watching a documentary about the young lads going for their Commando beret. I got a bit tearful too. However, when you are in basic training today do you know what you get paid? Hold on for this…£1450 as a nig private. After training we used to get about £450 a month. What were we thinking?

The book is amazing by the way. It is one of only three ‘electronic’ books I have for emergencies. Even though I know what is coming in places I still find myself ‘wondering’ as I turn the page. Not easy to do. Are you planning another?

Jerry asked my to write down my stories, but I would need some diplomatic immunity first!

At least you are not working with swabbies. 50pts.

    6. There is a set of sci-fi rules from FoF. Send me an email and i’ll get you a copy. Great stuff and you can create your own races.

I remember Striker back in 1984. Wow. It was harder than Gary Glitter at a spaorts day. Ever try ‘Harpoon’?

Riders on the Storm – I woke up one night to have that going through my head. After a second I realised it was being sung by Alex Jones.

Have fun and don’t go scuba diving!

We still play Infinity…just order all the new stuff. That song by Skynyrd is my favourite. Best lyrics ever. 100pts.

@elessar2590 – greeting to you to! Soviets? Afghanistan? 100pts. For modern stuff I use 20mm, but it was by accident.

    1. Our friend Davey Wolf would always be borrowing Rome from my Dave. He liked all the gay stuff. He died last year totally out of the blue.

I like stuff with cowboys…I might give a hurl. Good one.

I have 12 Strong to watch and to read. It looks fun. The Agency always put thier hooves in it! Wankers. So, I should ditch the film?

I am sure it will make some good scenarios for FoF games.

    2. “Happy Birthday” to your young neice. Have a great time. However, if you need the toliet they haven’t changes ‘gentlemen’ to ‘hymns’.

    3. Aussies rule. Anywhere whos’ national dish is toast is good by me. Prisoner: Cell Block H rules. TBLS is the best thing I have watched in years too.

    4. I am the nervous type so girls have had to go for me. Great fun. I did go on a blind date the day of my grandfathers cremation. Discuss…

    5. I fancied that, but I don’t have any real emotional problems to share with the greater unwashed. I have started ‘following’ a few other peoples channels, but more as a curiosity. I did film the Puggies and post it for my mum to see.

    6. Modern stuff rules. We tend to do “middle-eastern” stuff. I need to order 2 Mastiffs from S&S too. What rules do you use?

Dio – very awesome. 20pts. The version of ‘Heaven & Hell’ he does with Black Sabbath is awesome. How many times does that guy mention the word ‘rainbow’?

@oriskany – is that our @rasmus? If it is tell him “Hi!” from me.

    Oh, I see it is!

@rasmus – still on the streets? How is that beautiful daughter of yours?

Have you moved again? I hope it wasn’t to another country this time.

    1. My dad loves it! You should try ‘Inside No9’ on Netflix. However, you might not get the same things we do. Worth downloading if you don’t.

    2. Well, take it easy. I mean, you don’t want to get a stroke or something stupid like that! Enjoy your time with James tomorrow. Pictures!

    3. You are only going to see them once? Don’t tell me you are getting old? I didn’t get to see Marillion when they were 14 miles from here, but we did get to see Fish do his last show in Newcastle. Babymetal too.

    4. I was just thinking that the other day. The last time I saw Helen was just before my 22nd birthday. That makes it almost 30 years. Our first date was the cinema…Superman III. 1000pts.

    5. You should have tried the Foreign Legion. They are quicker. Do you want to be a US citizen?

    6. RPGing was always a great time. 10pts. So geeky though.

I wish I had known you were in Scotland!

@limburger – you should have said, I have just sold all of our rental property. The paperwork was appauling. The ‘Maverick’ trailer is terrible. Cruise would have been put out long before now. Take about dredging up the past to make a few Sheckles.

@robert – Mollie hates horses! I’ll set her on them. If Jamie plays ‘Red Dead 2’ and she sees a horse…game over.

@woldenspoons – see, it is easy when you play nice! 100pts. I’ll have you salivating on command within a week.

    1. I did see an episode of ‘Happy’ when I was at my neighbours. Wild, but I liked it. CM is a good actor. What did you think of ‘Chernobyl’? Someone recommended ‘Breaking Bad’ to me, but I am not sure.

    2. I hope your dog is fine and running about. Nothing worse. Show us a picture of the beast. 100pts.

The ‘pts’ are an indication of my smile…just in case you were wondering.

I made the vets nurse cry and drop the phone. Customers are arseholes.

    3. When you say it’s expensive you must play Wacoshop games! 20pts. Most of my pocket-money gets spent of toy soldiers too.

    4. Slippery! That sounds a bit greasy, but all is fair in love and war. The beginning of the stalkers manifesto…
Heather and I were apart, on-and-off, for nearly 18 months and it was horrible. This was pre-mobile phones too.

    5. I did miss ‘contrast paint’ until just a few weeks ago. Wacoshop must be not paying their paint bills again. That is why they keep changing paints. However, I do like their washes. I cannot paint flesh to save my life…maybe I should give them a try?

    6. You could do a WW2 skirmish? Secrets of the Third Reich is a great set of rules for small games.

Good luck with your interview. My fingers will be crossed and if you like I will sacrifice a chicken…just for you. No, really. I’ll stick be enforced retirement if you don’t mind.

    Pictures are still missing.

@unclejimmy I couldn’t handle people driving on the wrong side of the road.

Terrible doesn’t even begin to describe that Maverick trailer. The original worked because it was set at the right time and released at the right time.
You can’t just create a sequel of a movie like that and stuff it with modern day political correctness.

I need to rewatch Hotshots Part Deux just to clear my mind of the idea.

@unclejimmy Yes, I did move again but this time just down the road so only the house number did change – much harder physically when you move internationally you get rid of a lot of the junk you bring. Also more paper work as we did buy the house rather than rent. Send my daughter of to the In-Wars for a month here over the summer so it almost like being newly Wed 😉 after 17+ years of marriage.

Frontier is just about the latest show I had a chance to see, I am number 3 on the hacking order when it come to the TV so I have give up on watching too much, but I’ll make a mental note of Inside No9.

As for the game I’ll let @oriskany do a battle report in his Darkstar project as there where some fun stuff going on.

Trouble with Maiden is they play cities that are a few 100s of miles away from me.

Becoming a US citizen have very few downsides (Jury duty being one), and being able to vote for something more interesting that the Milton Keynes council could be fun. FF is out I would need to learn to speak French.
