Well, I have had a brilliant time. Maybe i’ll get more done this weekend if it is cooler. Thank you so much for surrendering your time and efforts, I really do appreciate every character that gets typed.

    Who is doing this next?

@unclejimmy thanks very much for hosting this one.
It was a lot of fun 🙂

@oriskany one of the few things I remember hearing about was that they only had missiles on some of those jets.
Then again … nothing like a real world test to see if a plan works, eh ?
It does suck that people died as a result of what must have been one heck of a mistake.

I do wonder if there is a use for guns on modern jets though, because tech has advanced quite a bit since those early days.
Wiki says the F-35 only has a measily 180 rounds for its internal cannon (compared to the +/- 500 of the F-16).
That’s probably less than a second worth of ammo. *eep* That’s more like an emergency supply and less like an actual weapon to use in a fight.

Great battle report @oriskany ! Thank you. I’m finding  I like the game after reading the battle report.

Maybe the F-35 pilots could carry an extra belt of ammo around their neck.

@robert I like the vine work on that treeman!

@unclejimmy Thanks for hosting. Are you not up for another weekend? I think you would get a unanimous thumbs up! 🙂

So yesterday I did stay out of here mainly due to going out and buying another 60 square feed of book cases – hope I that will be enough ….

That Lebanon game @oriskany spoke about was great fun,  – in Darkstar I was planing of letting the Sendai Boi take off at mad speed once she came under fire, but Kama did take all the fire.

This seem to have taken off at 200 miles/hour

But to answer @unclejimmy I have not been too bad on the old Kickstarter lately – I only added on more Old School Tactical to the 3 I already have, adding the Pacific to the East and West fronts for WW2, hex and counters. Those games own a lot to the same roots as V&V that @oriskany love to tinker with for any modern or semi-modern war. Infinity-Defiance will set me back a fair bit I foresee. Just as the GenCon releases for Infinity and DzC Behemoths when they come …

Else my Hobby budget have one major post left a weekend plus at the Michigan GT, and get 2 6 by 4 tables ready for my command center (sound better than Man-Cave, I am not a Caveman, despite the look)

In case any want to have a look there is 61 hours left https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/markhwalker/old-school-tactical-vol-iii-the-pacific-theater

Yep, @rasmus – that looks like V&V all right.  Good to see older-style (i.e., better) wargames do well and be recognized financially.  Hope for us all!

Meanwhile, I’ll be running the usual games this weekend.  @unclejimmy, I have added you to the mailing list.  By no means “feel obligated” or anything.  Just if the mood ever strikes you, hit the link in that e-mail at the time that is eventually confirmed (depending on what people sign up for).

Great thread.  Great to see the original “Weekender Thread” back!

@cpauls1 – if I haven’t been burned to a crisp I would love to do it this weekend. Heather is at her mums on Saturday and the boy is working until 1530hrs. However, I might not be as popular as you think…

I am going to order some of those drones when I get my pocket money on monday! I asked for it ‘early’, but was firmly told where to could put that idea. This is the downside of Heather being off work!

I want to put some paint onto this guy. He was part of the Kazak sectorial set. A Tankhunter special character.

I also found this beast while I was sorting through a box. I know it is a crappy picture, but I have all the blinds, and curtains, closed. I forget the name of the company, but they make stunning Blood Bowl minis. This is the Slann big-guy. A giant frog! Jamie wants to play some games with them. Oh, why not…

I hope everyone has a cool day. Maybe the “flat earth” guys are right and that the Sun is only 3000 miles away. Even my cats have come indoors. They would normally go to the back garden until after midday when the Sun goes around there, but it is too hot for them. Rufus was laying asleep in the bushes last night and I am thinking of joining him tonight.

Back to sorting bits. There is a full Grey Knight!

@oriskany – I am a bit more up-to-date with these things. I even got a camera, but haven’t had any reason to use it. It might even be still in the box! I have used Discord a few times to chat with people playing Mudrunner. I also “follow” three people on Twitter. I’ll let that sink in.

I would love to get in a bit of gaming with you are your comrades. Recently, I have been thinking about some Arab/Israel/Yom Kippur stuff. Even if it is just some tank battles. I have a T-34 (76) for my command and a ISU-152 to finish, but they are for Kursk. Next is some Soviet AT guns.

Maybe I can do a trade for those others? I might try on the Bizarre!

@unclejimmy – my work in progress Pak 40… or at least I think they are meant to be them!  Not sure if I should just leave them the way they are or add camo.  I do plan on puting plenty of bush and other vegetation around them, so it might be a bit of over kill.

I’ve also been press moulding some crates to set on the base as well.  They probably aren’t right for Pak 40 ammo, but the one you get with the kit is smaller than the shells the soldiers are holding.

If anyone wants my finger prints… you got them now!

@unclejimmy can you use the drones as proxy mini’s in Infinity? Or can you design your own kit?

I love that tank hunter model!

@robert if you’re part of this crew I expect your fingerprints are on file in several places. What’s the goop you’re using to make a mold?

I’ve got a leaf blower for sale:

@cpauls1 it is a thing called Instant Mould, I think.  I have had it for years.  It is reusable, just need to put it in boiling water for 30 seconds or so then stick whatever you want to duplicate into it.  Get it hard again under cold water 🙂 and then put green stuff or whatever you want in it.  Hopefully they will turn out ok.

I could say the female population of Northern Ireland definitely know my finger tips but that would just be a big old lie!

@robert – maybe just a little. I suppose it would depend where they were deployed. I like it!

@cpauls1 – it looks like you have a boy scout Jamboree going on there…

    Ye map of doom :

40,7 has been the official maximum.  Paris got to 41.4  … (that’s the city Paris in France … ;-))
Being outside is not fun at all, but then it never was so meh …

I have had a kickstarter arrive at a local pickup point this week.
I’ve got +/- 2 Km to walk to carry it back home, so I’m waiting for saturday because it wouldn’t be fun with these temperatures.

I doubt anyone outside of the Netherlands knew that Rutger Hauer was the star of a tv show about a knight ?
It could be considered the Dutch version of Ivanhoe

Wiki has this to say :

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floris_(TV_series)

And yes … that’s Paul Verhoeven directing.
