    As long as the glass is not fixed tightly and is under tension/stress drilling a small hole it should be a problem. If you want to be really careful you could use a hand-drill. 😉

    And I meant “hardware store”… don’t know why I wrote home depo…. silly me

    A hand drill may be worse.  I can see me slipping wit that and putting my hand through the glass! 😉  Push comes to shove, I’ll have someone with me bracing the glass so it doesn’t rattle.  And so they can drive me to hospital once I maim myself on broken glass

    IIRC you need special drill bits for glass … I wouldn’t attempt it myself even though it looks not too difficult.

    One of the advantages of living is a country with lots of bikes is that potholes are rare.
    I’m not a fan of glass based furniture because I know I’d manage to break it regardless of how careful I am.

    @limburger I wasn’t talking about drilling in glass. But in the wood frame of his IKEA shelf. 😉
