    @horati0nosebl0wer Thanks. It can be and makes for a more tactical game. What I tend to do is go by how much time we have to play and set out the terrain accordingly. The denser the Terrain the longer the Game.

    I use the same Terrain for Both Malifaux and WWX  (they are both similar scales for the human Characters) and you could also get away with the same board you use for Malifaux with WWX games up to about 1000 pts with a 3×3 (they say up to 1500 pts but it gets a bit crowded).

    Anybody bought this month’s White Dwarf? Lots of great goodies in it. Really quite impressed.

    The Dice Master Grombindal card is a particular highlight.

    I bought it and skimmed though it with a hangover with 17 drinks and four hours sleep ish. While eating sushi. Seems good. Gonna read it again later @woldenspoons

    Those December Acolytes are soooo pretty @horati0nosebl0wer I have the old metal one. I love the December stuff for Malifaux.

    I’m having a food coma at the moment haha. Jalapeno omellete with white pudding. Feel…. bleeehhh.

    Gonna quickly assemble some tasty Mordheim goodies from ebay and… wrap presents… I love giving gifts but by Ryleh I hate wrapping.

    @mage :

    maybe this will help :

    It also has a neat trick for wrapping oddly shaped presents (anything that isn’t a basic box/cube)

    Hey all,

    No hobby progress yesterday, busy with other things regrettably. Proper feedback etc tonight once I’m on a proper PC 🙂

    Ive been busy. Have everything wrapped bar one present for the mother and all my son’s stuff. Just need to get some chocolate and stocking fillers for people and Im set.

    Still a little weary today from two nights out in a row. I managed to wash the underside of my Goblin town scenery and drybrush it twice. Not a lot haha. I also assembled some oldhammer and Mordheim models. Ill try post pics tomorrow after my work course.

    @mage Thanks much. I’ve gone back and added some resin dismembered bits from Secret Weapon since they are cannibals per the fluff and the 1 ed. cards Hmm.. jalapeno omelette… sounds like good stuff. As far as washing the underside of goblin town it might be better just to burn it with fire. Who know what kind of filth covered infrastructure, if any, exists there?

    @limburger That is great information. I’m glad to have it now so I can use it for future presents.

    @evilstu As long as you provide something of amusement all shall be forgiven.

    In the meantime, my time at work was productive in getting into the prep work for next year. I got the bountyhunter Kyla  figure (14025) from Reaper out of my project boxes pinned and ready for its base. I got the chocobo rider’s right leg set up with 5 minute epoxy and managed to set him down on some Apoxiesculpt to leave less gap under the rider’s rump. I also have some thicker brass rod set into the feet for heftier support for when I put it all on a resin display base. I wasn’t too keen when I ended up busting through the leg armor but the Apoxiesculpt is great to refill with and dries to nearly the same color. I’m waiting on the resin base still but patience for what will be getting here, eventually, is something I can handle. I’m really liking the epoxy eventhough it smells like absolute (xd) as it hold much better than the glue I have for bigger fills.

    I also used the epoxy on a succubus figure (Virinia) from Reaper to pin and set her hooves on a display base I built up. Due to the nature of the figure I’ll keep that to my project “From the Workbench of the Esteemed HoratioNoseblower” when I complete it. I’m totally humble about the name of that project/blog as you can see. Outside of that I also was trying to put together a Kingdom Death Forsaker pinup which was painful in how fidgety it was (on par with some Malifaux bits). I’ll put that one up on the linked project/blog when I get it done. More or less all the things I am getting to are boing done because I’m finishing up basing and finally getting around to painting it.

    I almost forgot… I got my copper block dice for Bloowbowl in the mail. They’re heavy enough to cause damage if need be at game time.

    @horati0nosebl0wer well at least the commission is for a mix of things and not just batch painting the same colours over and over again. I guess the downside with that though is it takes longer to get it finished… Nice start on the acolytes – I’m with @mage on this, great looking minis/faction. erm, nothing amusing yet but I can post random pictures of puppies from the internet if that will help?… wow that Kyla mini is a nice sculpt – might look at picking one up. reaper have multiple free mini deals on at the moment so it’s kind of easy to find an excuse… 60 seasonal gingerbread men for posts and hobby progress.

    @limburger The printer had no arms at the start of the bout, 3 rrms by the end of proceedings x-(  All solid game choices, and a strong theme on the narrative aspect with those games. heh, hadn’t really made the mental connection between Reichbusters and Wolfenstein, but it’s really apparent now that you mention it. If you ever do come up with a perfect game storage solution there is probably a fortune to be made in it. My best solution so far is throw out anything non-gaming related to make more space… Hrm considering printing that sign and putting it up on the door of our IT department… 40 seasonal gingerbread men for post and responses.

    @dawfydd that leviathan is the business! Well done! 20 seasonal gingerbread men for hobby progress.

    @woldenspoons small, but can you get several and start stacking a Tardis inside a tardis inside a tardis? Could eventually scale up to an effective kickstarter storage solution 🙂 20 seasonal gingerbread men for posts so far.

    @richbuilds welcome back! Love the seraphon – were they done with carefully layered inks? It’s been a while so i can’t remember exactly how you were approaching them. Nice start on the fallout too. 20 seasonal gingerbread men for hobby progress.

    @biggabum it’s important to have standards – good to see a fellow man of principles 😉 I can sort of see what you mean with GW or historicals as a grounding, but you’d hope people would evolve and want to experience other games? I mean I’m not still playing 2nd edition Battletech and Heroquest… OK, that actually sounds totally awesome, might need to dust off the old battletech stuff… Sorry, what was the point I was trying to make?… 🙂 WWX looks like it was fun – and a nice big game too so you could break out the fun toys. 40 seasonal gingerbread men for posts and battle pics.

    @mage ah you crazy youngsters and your social lives, being out every night 🙂 17 drinks?… erm, I’m not gonna try and guess how you are pulling up on 4 hours sleep then. I have a great system for gift wrapping – I get my GF to do it 🙂 Sounds lazy but present wrapping is her hobby – she does some marvellous looking gifts. Only downside is that when I buy her a gift I have to wrap it for her and I end up comparing the wrapping to heer standards :-/ Fortunately I have been watching what she does and can sort of fake my way through… If not, I’ll just approach it like any other hobby project and keep adding PVA until the paper stays down 😉 Congrats on the wrapping progress, keen to see your Mordheim shinies 🙂 40 seasonal gingerbread men for posts so far and progress. Hope you are pulling up OK…

    Hello people. The weekend was long and eventful. Saturday I was at the Star Wars: Legion Tournament I mentioned. And on Sunday we (daughter, wife and I) looked at a house with the potential to buy. (With a hobby room!)

    But since this is a hobby thread here are a few pictures from the tables:

    IMG_20181208_094756103IMG_20181208_094747460IMG_20181208_094706244IMG_20181208_094728615

    And these are the setups I had to fight:

    IMG_20181208_163013391IMG_20181208_163021546IMG_20181208_102421551IMG_20181208_140154477IMG_20181208_140158432

    I had an Imperial list with Veers, Scouts, Snipers, 2x Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers and Speederbikes. And every one of my opponents was Rebel with Han Solo, Leia and 2 – 3 Sniper units. And those are gamebreakers. A hit from the sniper is a nearly guaranteed kill in a squad. But I still had a lot of fun and everyone I played was nice. My usual goal is: be first or last and I usually end up in the lower half… NOT THIS TIME! I crashed in dead last. And got some chocolate for it 😉

    In summary Meta/Power gaming sucks monkey balls but I still like SW:L very much.

    @sundancer glad you had fun and got to play on some nice looking tables.

    I know you were expecting an empire full of Vader and Palpatine meta so imagine that was a big surprise to you. Now I’m more interested in the game than ever. Of course there may not be enough choices currently to counter and spam. Have to see how Royal Guard and Death Troopers switch it up. Has the empire gotten any new bigger toys yet?

    Oh, there where a lot of Emperors too, but I didn’t play against those 😉 Biggest Empire stuff are Vader, Emperor and AT-ST. You can also field snipers but I don’t like this powergaming 😉 Next time I’ll have my Palpatine and Royal Guard painted.

    I see your clever plan, lose to everyone to avoid the power gamers. That’s next level tactics that is.a

    I think even in my most competitive times I was never interested in ‘the hot net list’. I’d be aware of it of course and have a plan but I’d never do it. Certainly not if I could find something merfolk to do instead. It’s the only reason I’d want a Kings of War army. (GeeDubya fish elves are not quite the same thing).

    Well we are past the date for Mantic shipping Black Friday stuff so hopefully Star Saga is on its way to me. Or Whiterock Castle as I will pretend it is.

    @sundancer : I’m looking for a hobby room with a house attached 😉

    //

    Got my Dark Souls wave 2 stuff … the same day I had asked them if there had been a problem with the tracking e-mail as the number that was in it wasn’t working.

    I think I can start a dragon army … or a dragon killteam, for when you really want things to die.

    @evilstu : I think I need to invent trans-dimensional engineering to solve my storage challenge 😉
    Or win the lottery …

    Chances of either happening are practically zero though.
