@querion awesome, Mono Inc 🙂 one of those bands that I am embarrassed by how long it took me to discover them.. <_< Really like the idea of the demonic treekin, and those marshalls look deadly – inspiring work!
@oriskany glad to hear you are back on schedule sleep-wise. Congrats on getting the pre pack away 🙂
@sundancer great progress. really like your work on fleshtones.
@a27cromwell nice conversion work, congrats on getting it finished. I think it looks great with the 6 of them – no doubt they would have appreciated a little bit of personal space 😉 Although that pile-on in the last shot does look really authentic too 🙂
September 12, 2018 at 10:44 am #1265998Well, I squandered 22 euro on Monday forgetting about my yearly car test while I painted Star Wars Legion. It was for just after lunch time and I remember it before bed. Crap.
Off to book it and sort the bank for it again today and hopefully get glue while I am out. Might squeeze in a jog and/or swim before the test and then going for a nap before work. Ill also try get some hobby and pictures of said hobby in also. Wish me luck. Not sure when I will post again today. Tonight at latest.
I am continuing to run Storm Kings Thunder for Dungeons and Dragons which was last night. We are getting close to completing Chapter 4 while players gather Giant Relics hidden by Uthgardt Barbarian Tribes to prove their worth in stopping the splitting of the Giant Ordning to the Prophet in the Temple of the All Seeing Eye. I think I named all that stuff correctly. This will bring them into conflict with the Evil Giant Lords and hopefully coming one step closer to finding the Storm Giant, King Hekaton and stopping the world being thrown into a state of upheavel.

@a27cromwell I love the tank riders, they are quite impressive
@sundancer Nice work on SWL. In an Orky mood? You seem to have a bit of backlog going on.
@oriskany Aye, the Death Marshals are super fragile. I put mine together a few years ago but I recall strongly how finicky a kit they are
@querion Sounds like you were more in love with the setting than the game
@oriskany Enjoy the Bolt Action weekend. You might as well buy real estate in Coleraine at this stage. You staying in NI for the visit or heading around the island on vacation as well to the RoI also?
Ever think of hitting kickstarter for darkstar?
@evilstu I am still waiting on it but its ok. Have plenty of other stuff to work on. Need glue and bluetac, and my next order will be for some paints, sand and brushes. I can foresee myself running completely dry on non-paint and certain basing materials around the start of November. I want to stay stocked up til Christmas and beyond. Winter nights and all that.

Also I can host this weekend.
Also, pics to follow of my completed Arcworlde minis. My pledge fell short on the time I intended to do it, but I am completing it.
Also, if there are no objections, I might start the next thread on Thursday at some point as I am off Thursday to Saturday.
September 12, 2018 at 10:49 am #1266021September 12, 2018 at 12:26 pm #1266081@oriskany at least the winged ladys are really fragile … transporting them to the store for the paintingt challenge was rather nervewracking. Even with them beeing ina transportcase …. every single bump during the train ride made me twitch 😉 And as of now they’re still standing there in the showcase … you could say it’s so that people can look at them for a bit longer, but the truth is i didn’t want to transport them again 😉
@evilstu thanks 🙂 and yeah i just discovered mono inc. recently myself, so we could share the shame 😉
@mage nah the rules where fine to, but in rpgs its really more the setting that draws me in more than the rules
@sundancer man i really miss gorka morka, that is the specialist game that i really wish they would do again … but propably never will.
September 12, 2018 at 12:35 pm #1266086@querion I agree…. the new game isn’t just it… as far as I can see “speed freeks” will be a racing game and not “necromunda on wheels”
‘member the red gobbo? RED GOBBO REMEMBERS COMRADES! 😉
September 12, 2018 at 1:25 pm #1266111September 12, 2018 at 1:29 pm #1266114@mage this one
Da Red Gobbo is the leader of the Rebel Grots on Gorkamorka and is the head of Da Kommitte of the grots. He is known to wear a red cape to show his support of “Da Revolushun”.
In truth, there is no single Red Gobbo. The position rotates between various members of Da Kommittee after an election.
September 12, 2018 at 1:30 pm #1266115@mage yeah the quality of the minis was not the best, it got better over time, but it was far away from stuff you build and paint yourself … it was similar to hero clix i would say.
September 12, 2018 at 3:45 pm #1266140Ok, here are four of the five models from my pledge: Colonel Brontide and theee Froststream Guard. Enjoy!
September 12, 2018 at 11:52 pm #1266315September 13, 2018 at 12:11 am #1266316Time for some replies.
@evilstu I like the idea of a Long Range Dakka Group, some of the best Ork Armies I’ve seen are based on real life Military’s.
15 points for the Replies
@querion Welcome Back!
Those Nurgle looks awesome, I like the idea of corrupting nature, rotted limbs full of grubs and covered in Fungi sounds right up pappa Nurgle’s alley.
I’ve only had one game with the new rules and I loved it. A lot of things that had been issues since the game came out were fixed, a lot of things that people hated from the 2012 reboot were fixed and a lot of Tournament House rules were implemented which is very encouraging to see.
I’m very excited for Clone Wars, our Local Gaming group are going to go nuts when it comes out.
10 Points for the questions, 5 points for the music,10 Points for the replies and 5 points to welcome you back.
@mage Those minis look great, I especially like the Blue Bearskins.
10 points for replies, 10 Points for the completed pledge and 5 points for the pics.
@oriskany Looking forward to the live stream. Ah the feeling of relief when you hand in a completed project.
10 Points for the replies.
@sundancer something is always better than nothing, great work.
5 Points for the progress
@a27cromwell They look fantastic, I’m a huge fan of making your tanks look unique especially in a Historical Game.
10 Points for the finished pledge and 5 Points for the pictures

September 13, 2018 at 7:48 am #1266425Morning all you lovely hobbyfolk 🙂 Tis good to be back in the old country. Still getting all settled in but the new studio (was orginally my Dad’s studio when he was a watercolourist) is up and running – still needs a few (lot) of tweaks but am finally getting back into painting and a routine. Getting some good study in as well; which is kinda my hobby pledge for now – studying up on some new techniques and going back and practicing some old ones 🙂
@querion – cheers matey. not so much reverse culture shock coming home barring the fact that i can now get decent bloody sausages and cheese easily!!!
@evilstu – nice. my first two years in korea i was working in a hagwon. they are basically like after school private academies. I shifted into the public school system after that for the following 11 years. There are some decent korean restaurants in dublin but pricey as hell – thankfully my wife, who is korean, is a great cook and makes some of my favourite dishes 🙂
@mage – i havent gotten around to looking into any gaming clubs yet in the area. I live out in the countryside but will definitely will check out the FB group. SK is a wonderful country. For the first 8 years i was based on the east coast in a city called Sokcho and then for 5 years in a bigger city called Wonju, about an hour from Seoul. Being there for 13 years I saw so much and many changes esp with regards to being a foreigner there. I wouldnt say it was ever weird being a foreigner there – when i first lived there there was a lot of staring as foreigners were pretty thin on the ground. so could be kind of annoying at times. you got used to it though. the hardiest thing was always missing some of home’s food comforts (see above note re: sausages and cheese!!)
@elessar2590 – cheers muchly! I play a lot of electroswing when i stream on twitch as well as – find it good for paintign along to – keeps the pace upbeat and energetic. Some music i jsut cant paint to as it distracts me or makes my blending sloppy – weird i know!! Thx re: cherubael & eisenhorn – I’ve always really loved the dan abnett books on them and so the minis when i eventually got my hands on them were always going to be pretty personal. I really pushed myself on them and tried out to paint outside of my usual comfort zone and wheelhouse, esp with the skin on Cherubael. My levels have probably (hopefuly!!) improved since then but those two will always be my favourite and in many ways, my best models ever 🙂
time to get the newest part of @oriskany ‘s prep articles for the bootcamp read and then some morning painting. Trying to finish up the White Lion from KD:M so I’ll finally have the prologue minis done.
September 13, 2018 at 8:00 am #1266426What a nice surprise to start the day … could sleep as long as i wanted today, but the doorbell had other thoughts. Well or rather the delivery guy that rang it. But everything was forgiven in an instant: i finally got my beginners game-box for the new Legend of the Five Rings-RPG. So no painting for me today, just a lot of reading and grinning from ear to ear.
September 13, 2018 at 1:25 pm #1266544I didn’t go to bed immediately after work. Normally it’s straight to bed at nine and sleek til two or three. I’m up now. Saxon, a two year old Doberman who is still very puppyish, woke me four freakin’ times.
Hard to stay annoyed at him then when he nuzzles in beside me for cuddles.
im tired and cranky and in no form for anything today
