Grr… 3 hours sleep again… Seems to be a common theme at the moment… @sundancer great terrain!
September 1, 2018 at 3:33 am #1261153@mage @woldenspoons @evilstu it’s 3:30 am here…. maybe we should start an exclusive club for insomniacs… and people with sons called Matty zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
@tuffyears hey that is coming along really nicely there Sir. It looks a lot bigger than I thought it was. OOoh Paranormal Investigation eh? Sounds right up my street.
@sundancer Cool terrain pieces. I see how you’ve done the bunker but what bits did you use on the generator looking piece?
September 1, 2018 at 8:54 am #1261164September 1, 2018 at 9:46 am #1261181@sundancer Cool, thanks. I’ll have to keep my eye out for some.
September 1, 2018 at 12:04 pm #1261238Hey @all apologies for being quiet today – a few nights in a row of little sleep is not conducive to cognitive processing 😛 Sprayed some road terrain pieces today and threw a wash on them and a bit of work on my orcs – just base colours, didn’t trust myself to do anything too much more sophisticated today… So will try again tomorrow. If I can clock in a solid 5 hours tonight I should be back on track and will post detailed responses in the morning.
@woldenspoons yes I have always thought that Wait and Bleed would make a great swing song – I can just imagine the big band accompaniment 🙂
September 1, 2018 at 1:34 pm #1261252Hey guys. Console night didn’t pan out
my trolls varnish is drying and hen he’ll get crass clumps. Out in town now. Back for some hobby later
September 1, 2018 at 4:50 pm #1261280No game for me this weekend, can’t even vote myself armchair general ?.
I instead got some painting done on my Deathguard. A few stages still to go and I’m aware no Poxwalkers done but I am happy with my progress . Picture o’clock!
Cool. That worked, should mean posting pictures is easier from now on. (I do all of this with my phone only.)
September 1, 2018 at 5:57 pm #1261292Feedback and my answers time! Warning will be a long one.
Historical opponent. Napoleon or Hannibal spring to mind but I worry if they would manage to adapt to modern warfare (probably yes to be fair) but my choice will please @oriskany and @warzan. I choose Patton. That’s a man with tricks up his sleeve.
Fictional. I choose The Joker. He’d play it like I do, maximum chaos and carnage.
Modern. Tough one but probable Jose Mourinho. Funny, good tactician but would be a bit of a whiner.
For Elvis covers, the missus suggests Robbie Williams’ Angel and I smell a money making juggernaut. My choice is Guns and Roses Paradise City. Perfect fit, I bet you are singing it now!
Holy Bootcamp Batman! Pick a gang, let’s go in a territory grab campaign! I’m trying to not pick a gang now!
@biggabum Batman game pledge met +10 points
Napoleon switching sides is a great idea +10 points
I wish I thought of playing Space Hulk versus Ripley. Too good by far +10 points
Who wouldn’t want to play Samuel L Jackson? Just beware the state if you pull any tricks +10 points
Elvis and Meatloaf seems like a match made in heaven, Bat out of Hell makes the album! +10 points
Wild West was always a game I watch. No Justin No! Good choice +10 points
@sundancer Robin Williams, the gaming urban legend. He’d keep you off guard for sure and you’d always enjoy the experience. +10 points
Led Zeppelin, whole lotta great answer. Love it. Makes the album +10 points
+10 points as pity points for Boot camp.
@mage DJ Mage bring it on, tunetastic! +40 points, 4 tunes rewarded
I don’t believe anyone could pick a better DM than Steven King. Inspired! +10 points
You earn a bajillion points for Come as you are and video. (or +10 points).
I’m not familiar with Arceworlde making it a great choice, your breakdown of activities is a good touch too +20 points. Also +20 points for feedback to others. Can we have a progress report on your pledges?
@evilstu H G Wells, the kickstarter. +10 points
Ares may well be an unbeatable… Answer! Well except for Kratos. +10 points
Kevin Smith or Joss Whedon would make a great narrative. +10 points

September 1, 2018 at 7:46 pm #1261313Woooo! Points! Did some hobby with my daughter (7) today. (Actually we build orc and boar yesterday and primed it, but today she started painting it.) Enjoy!
The orc will get “bad teeth” and the boar will get its eyes glow red….
September 1, 2018 at 7:52 pm #1261314Oh forgot my second build
And some music! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUUHitCbJ6A
September 1, 2018 at 11:13 pm #1261337@biggabum i’m a quilted paranormal investigator and i have a diploma in parapsychology.
So If you have a problem… if no one else can help… and if you can find me… maybe you can hire… The my-Team
September 1, 2018 at 11:57 pm #1261340@sundancer yes I remember hearing audio grabs of John Cleese doing the voice narration for a car GPS navigation system. It got fairly terse whenever you made a wrong turn etc so I do think your assessment of his playing style would be much more accurate 🙂
@biggabum Like the hidden deployment/movement mechanic 🙂 What terrain do you have on the way? Great batRep 🙂 The board is looking really good too 🙂
@tuffyears good to see you again 🙂 Hope work hasn’t been too onerous… Truck looks great – will you be detailing the windows like you have for your other Gaslands cars?
@mage enjoy the night out. Should we anticipate pics of the troll when you have an opportunity?
@woldenspoons DG looking great. A nice blend of machinery and biology in the paint scheme 😉 Yeah, poxwalkers.. I Got 20 done from the Dark Imperium starter and then kind of shelved the project – took about 15 coats of wash for the skin the way I was doing… Will revisit now that I have Kill Team to motivate me 🙂
Yes Batman would make an amazing bootcamp game. But wouldn’t everyone just want to play the Joker crew or Batman?
Yes will take some photos of hobby progress stuff today and post this evening 🙂
@sundancer terrain is looking great! Really like the sci-fi generator piece. I need to start keeping an eye out for interesting shapes in the grocery store… Really nice that your daughter joins in and you get to spend the time together 🙂
@tuffyears I now ave the mental image of a ’59 Cadillac ambulance painted black with a red stripe down the side… And possibly mr T standing in the back with a minigun and gold chains just grinning 🙂
Off to breakfast, catch up on current affairs and then hobby – back later 🙂
September 2, 2018 at 4:05 am #1261349@woldenspoons The deathguard look fantastic mate they’re really coming along nicely. Thanks for the comments on the bat rep.
Llandudno eh? Its about 90 miles from me methinks (I’m in Shrewsbury) . Wouldnt be this year, my car is rubbish, getting another one in March. Maybe I could bring the wife up in the summer for our Holidays and we could get a game while she has a day on the beach scoffing Ice cream?
@sundancer thats not bad for a seven year old. My Granddaughter is five and loves Munckin (although simplified a bit). Was toying with the idea of getting a few old plastics and a cheap paintset for her to muck about with. Might get that new GW mag thats being advertised for the mini’s and find her some old paints and brushes…. at the very least it will keep her away from that bloody Peppa Pig for an afternoon.
@tuffyears a paranormal Investigator? That is so cool. I have a massive interest in the Paranormal. I had an experience when I was young (about five or six methinks) and a few others throughout my life.
@evilstu Thank you Sir. I bought a few MDF terrain sets from a place called TT combat here in ther UK. I got an Apartment building (about 25 Aud), a pair of dumpsters and fencing (about 7 Aud) and a play park set ( about 7 Aud). I don’t know if thats cheap over there but its very cheap over here. I’ll show them once I’ve got them together.
September 2, 2018 at 7:42 am #1261368@biggabum true. My daughter has some more painted in the last months. I found it best to grab a bag of cheap miniature lots on ebay (a hand full of wizkids hero clicks, they are bigger and easier to handle) and let her at it. If I can find the pictures again I’ll do a little project page for it), a pointy brush and some base colours. That’s why she has her own paintstation. Whenever she needs other paints I give her some from my stack on her pallet.
September 2, 2018 at 8:06 am #1261369@sundancer I’m not sure the Heroclicks are a good idea for me…. i’d end up playing with them 😀
Seriously tho, thats a great idea, i’ll have a look on ebay and see what I can find.
amusing tale (well I found it funny anyway) I have a Marvel Tee Shirt with pics of Spiderman, Hulk, Thor, wolverine and Iron Man on them so last year I was teaching Lily who all the characters were it went something like this:
Me (pointing at each pic in turn): Spiderman. Hulk, Thor, Wolverine, Iron Man.
Lily: -Blank Look-
This went on three or four times
Me: Spiderman. Hulk, Thor, Wolverine, Iron Man.
Lily: Spiderman, Hulk, Thor.
Me: And after Thor?
Lily: Five
😀
