@mage you can easily grow herbs in your kitchen window as long as it gets plenty of light. In my opinion dried herbs are best used for basing models or making foliage except dried oregano – it is actually better dried.
@tuffyears I don’t have enough superlatives in my lexicon to describe how good your slayers look. The dark, simple basing is genius and really allows the models to speak for themselves. I’ve went all art critic this morning!
June 2, 2019 at 11:44 am #1398568@dawfydd I know, right ? But now they’re not even using a new name … as if they’ve said “f this … they’re gonna buy it anyway”
There may be a general dislike for the dominant position of GW, but at least they’re trying to do something new once in a while.
The video game industry however not a single big studio/publisher that dares to do something new. It’s all so ridiculously safe , risk free and predictable. *blergh*Which reminds me … I still haven’t started reading the Gotrek omnibus I got a while ago. My stack of stuff to read is growing.
Only hobby related work I did was install Visual Studio 2019 (community edition), ’cause I want to test the new Blazor stuff.
Had to revive my old project ’cause for some reason it refused to run, but that’s sorted … I hope.Now all I need to do is see if the weather is not as hot as they’ve predicted.
I hate hot sunny days … :-pJune 2, 2019 at 12:14 pm #1398582June 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm #1398598That’s rather cool @tuffyears
June 2, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1398615June 2, 2019 at 1:51 pm #1398689I didn’t spend the last hour walking round the kitchen singing, “I am a Dwarf and I’m cooking in the dinner, Dinny Dinny, Dins, Dins, Dins, D-Dins.” Thanks!
June 2, 2019 at 2:06 pm #1398716it’s 32°C outside and my head doesn’t think straight any more…. I wouldn’t mind the heat that much if it had gone up gradually… but 48 hours ago it was something close below 20°C… bright evil day star… go away… *gna*
I hope you lot are fine… even without XLBS…
June 2, 2019 at 2:28 pm #1398725Interesting looking link, I will check it out shortly.
@woldenspoons <15 points>
I did the same with my second set (or was it third) to not have twoplicates. 5 points for each
Thanks for the compliment on the surgeon. It’s a beautiful model but I hate repetitive monoposes.
Ok so….
@mage <10 points>
As per Woldenspoons
@dawfydd <30 points>
I hate to say this, but is the crest on the Primaris Captains head on the wrong way aroud? I think the front is facing backward.
That is a good bit of assembly. 20 points.
A couple of quid… dear god the Irish pound and its link to Sterling is long gone and has me out of my depth… that’s… five packets of scampi fries, yes?
Prowlstator is fun. I can imagine one of the dumber Constructicons still asking the others ‘when is prowl coming back’. Thanks! Finished a Chaplain for the Minos this morning but had not the time to take a picture with a work swap… whats a polite way of saying this without expressing frustration that I can convey… ahem… ‘Kerfuffle’. In other news the Apothercary is almost done.
Actually I kinda need to pick your brain a bit being the other Space Marine fanboy on this thread. Im wanting to do a Badab War project but not sure what armies to pick though I have a fair idea. I was thinking two or three 1,000 point armies from each side. I may include Primaris stuff simply for cool factor, I know they weren’t around t the time. Badab War themed I guess…
10 points for responses to others.
June 2, 2019 at 2:42 pm #1398734BL 20 anniversary editions you say? Hold on, I have a tiny violin around here somewhere.
Id rather add the oregano to home made fried chicken. Thanks for the advice J
I think when a video game company like Bethesda or Activision gets to a certain point creativity and quality goes out the window and the only thing cared about is the bottom line.
Damn you don’t stop do you. Someone made that from scratch?
Have an ice cold mojito or some other effeminate cocktail for the heat.
June 2, 2019 at 2:45 pm #1398735@limburger EA, Activision and Bethesda certainly seem to be extremely unwilling to take any real risks, to the ultimate detriment of their reputations and profits but always lay blame at the studios (consider EA – have only put out 2 passable Star Wars games since getting the licence off Disney, have shuttered studios which they themselves have hamstrung, and forced the Frostbite engine on all their teams despite it not being fit for anything other than FPS’s without major work), but then there has been a boom in smaller devs and publishers taking risks, and – somewhat ironically – Sony, Nintendo & Microsoft have each shown a willingness to innovate with the titles they themselves have published. Weird…..
@mage you know I wasn’t sure myself but I double then triple-checked the fitting and the crest “tab” actually tapers at one end to match the notch in the helmet, it is correct.
As to the Badab War you have plenty of options, and I wouldn’t worry too much about having Primaris mixed in there. 1000 pt forces seems nice and manageable, and should equate to a Detachment each so you can get really thematic. Did you have any chapters in mind specifically?
June 2, 2019 at 2:58 pm #1398770Those three companies you mention @dawfydd really dropped the ball this year.Poor Bioware…
Nintendo have learned from mistakes with the WiiU and Microsoft seem to as well and are getting chummy with Nintendo. I think Sony are making a mistake missing E3 but they arent doing badly by any means.
Ah ok cool, maybe its just the angle of the photo.
As for Badab…
June 2, 2019 at 3:01 pm #1398776Well I already have my Minotaurs army.
I like all the Secessionists, but I have never been good at painting metal power armour (such as the Astral Claws)
As for the Loyalist group: Sons of Medusa, Star Phantoms, Charcharodons, Salamanders, Firehawks, Red Scorpions, Raptors, Fire Angels,
I do like the more Obscure Chapters. The problem with doing the Salamanders, Red Scoprions or other ones listed is that it becomes less about the Badab War as they are so less well known. Its more ‘oh look, a Salamanders army!’, imho.
June 2, 2019 at 3:16 pm #1398781June 2, 2019 at 3:19 pm #1398782@mage well Astral Claws you can get around having to paint massed silver armour by doing some Imperial Guard units to represent the Tyrant’s Legion. Have you got the 8th Edition Astartes Index from Forge World? Or Battlescribe? The named characters in there have a lot of flavour to them if you want to theme specific detachments…..
