Hobby Weekender 30/11 The Verge of Christmas!

A better look at the Leviathan. Still some work to do – eye-lenses and the lie mainly, cabling for Siege Claw, hitting the black armour with a final wash of Nuln Oil Gloss – but I’m digging how it’s coming together. I used some more of that BlueRaspberry colour-shift paint from Turbodork on the claw blades to tie back to the power weapons on the infantry and it still blows me away how the stuff is like milk on the pallet, but as soon as you apply it it becomes this fascinating deep metallic blue/purple….

@dawfydd That’s coming along great. I’ve fought against those things and they are a cracking machine. So a positive review of the colour shift paints? Is there one brown and puke green for my Deathguard?

@woldenspoons yeah, I’ve heard good things. I have bad thoughts of using the Teleportarium strategium to drop one of these and some Deathwatch troopers near something I want to make GO AWAY 😉

Well  I’ve got their Afterburner and Dark Net colours, of which I think afterburner is probably what you are after for a brown colourshift, but I had a look at their website and Electrum seems a good fit for DeathGuard:  https://turbodork.com/products/electrum-colorshifting-acrylic-paint  and I dig how the their Ground is Lava looks as well. The only downside is shipping from the States is quite painful >_< . Might have to do some searching see if there is a UK retailer for them…..

15 Gil for finishing Njal, I belive I already gave points for him earlier with WIP work. I like him. The glow is great, but I think the colour of the glow is very close to his armour. That’s me nitpicking though, he is top notch stuff otherwise.

There is loads of hope. Why wouldn’t there be any hope? I love the Adam Savage video you post, I have watched it many times. 10 Gil.

 

I might start a project log soon. Now that Mordheim has been played (there will be another Mordheim night soon, god willing, before Christmas) but for now it is back to ‘The Hobbit: Escape from Goblin Town’. I have my pledge for the next weekender locked and loaded. While they are my painting pledge, I am still assembling ebay arrivals of Mordheim and converting up zombies.

@mage no you didn’t miss anything. I had a customer with a server crash and that had to be dealt with in a loooong night shift and, the old fart I am, recovery takes some time. Also I was still missing parts for my Legion guards and I went a little heavy on playing Battletech (the PC game)
