Quick response before bed. Busy day with my lady friend this morning, the gym with a trainer and then going to a work thing where people serving 5-10 and 10+ years got awards as part of a local government 120th anniversary thing. So much free food! Also got this:

So this is how my day started, trying out basing material on one marine:

And managed to get everyone to here. Not I may need to do another coat of iron rust and do the rims black again or a brown. I’ll ask more about that in detail tomorrow. Also the gold needs touching up.

That’s good night from me and hopefully work will pass quickly: I’m getting quite particular for some Star Trek Deep Space Nine and painting my Primaris Marines lately. It’s heavenly.

1.Why are we doing Aprils fools day?

I imagine there are many theories on the origin of this day. It being the start of the new financial year surely is no coincidence.

    2. Do you do Aprils fools day?

Not if I can help it.

    3. Do you like Aprils fools day?

I think the media doing it now is like uncle dancing. Very embarrassing. I also worry for vulnerable people who don’t have the tools to filter through it.

    Uggh serious.

    Music time.

Not as cool as @tuffyears‘ but I like it!

Music, something from last year that I have been listening to in the shed making Plague Bearers and sticking backpacks on Tommies… The album is strange for me and I have struggled to get my head around it…a mixture of melodic death metal with major neo-classical, traditional metal and power metal influences.  I like it but it doesn’t make sense in my head at times…

@rayzryr I do like those Wardancers.  They are my favourite of all the elves!  Interesting stuff about the Primaris, must read the background to the bigger Marines.

@limburger I will check out Core Space.  Has it arrived yet?

@oriskany Nice work on the DAK.

@mage well done on your award and good work on the marines.  You are nearly there!

@woldenspoons Lorgar will be most displeased in your lack of faith 🙂

@dawfydd hope the bits are sorted.

@blinky465 I know nothing about 3D printing but I must say I do enjoy reading about your hot bed, virgin filament and nozzle 🙂  Bad innuendos aside, seeing your progress and what you (and @evilstu) are doing with your printers really is fascinating.

@horati0nosebl0wer the Mongolian metal was interesting.

    Thanks @robert

@tuffyears I see you saw my space marine mini-detachment and raised a demi company of Blood Angels. Well played!

    uuugghh.. frazzled…

I was pretty tired after work, got home, dozed off in front of the computer while trying to drink a cuppa…

then plowed full into working out roughly what 40K Conquest will cost vs buying the stuff direct from GW. In Australian $$.

Flip me… it reaaaly looks like it’ll be worth it.

Minimum cost for a subscription looks like $1562.23 if they stick to 80 issues.

I calculate buying the stuff from Aussie GW direct at $2738.50.

That includes all the minis, terrain, paints, a few brushes and a paint handle.

I have also tried to choose the cheapest option where possible on GW, so Easy Build option where they exist for example.

Anyway, I’m ready for sleep, I’ll be more conversing tomorrow.

    Catchya!

Home from 12 at work mostly listening to the Neckbeardia coverage of Warhammer 50k before the shit, shower, sleep and proceed to 12 more later.

My mind is warped and all I could do was chuckle @mage and his upcoming Space Marine rimjobs. In all honesty good for you to get recognized for good work.

@woldenspoons Good music but I’ll leave it for later

@robert good looking pushpin board. Mine has been great to use for keeping my on hold minis in plastic bags pinned to.

@sundancer *glaring with bleary eyes and the cold disdain of a world without coffee readying for bed* Ice bear is most dangerous bear

@tuffyears I am going to ignore the singing as I’m tempted to try and put further lyrics to the song with things about tentacles, pustulence and entropy by and by .

Ze big box has arrived … 😀

And I got a tracking mail for Hellboy, so *eh* yeah that too soon.

    Meanwhile :

Captain Marvel had a good soundtrack … the movie itself was rather meh TBH.

@mage : how the heck does one pronounce those names ??

@limburger the names? You mean the words in Irish aka Gaeilge on the vase?

@limburger try living in Wales ;). Hmm I’ve not had Hellboy confirmation, I’m off work tomorrow for my Mother in Law’s funeral but I may get chance to chase it up.

@rayzryr It does work out good value here so I can only imagine there. As an aside most of the kits are the easy build ones but still works out massively cheaper.

I’m still very disappointed none of you read why I switched to Black Legion closer…

@mage : yes the words on that vase. I was wondering what it said.
Is Irish still taught at schools ?
I never really thought that people spoke a different language in Ireland, but then I haven’t really been outside of my own country (except for the two bootcamps and two short visits to Alpe d’Huez).

@woldenspoons I’ve seen some Welsh city names … or at least a mess of letters that supposedly are names but lack of vowels for some reason 😉

    //

    Yes Core space unboxed 🙂

I’ve got the core game and at least one of every add-on. Total weight a bit under 8 kg.
The game and the cyberpunk expansion are the only items that have ‘retail quality’ packaging.
The expansions (shoot-out at Zeds, the Shuttle and Outbreak were shrinkwrapped and inside the cyberpunk box, which made it look like they were missing at first. I suppose the ‘get to the shuttle’ expansion could be considered ‘retail packaging’ as it had a big enough label to idendify it. Everything else had to be identified by guessing, which is annoying but mildly dissappointing. OTOH … this isn’t that uncommon in Kickstarters, but it can make for a negative first impression if this is your first.

Miniature quality is not exactly high-end.
If you’re expecting CMON / GW quality then you’re going to be dissappointed.
I’d say it is a bit below Mantic in detail. Terrain is excellent (like do’h)
