    @torros great looking game. The smaller scales do look amazing on the tabletop.

    @evilstu thanks. Nice start to the cultists. We actually wear purple in the Cult of Bum (when I say Cult I use the term loosely due to me being the only member)

    Hey guys,

    I delved straight into Dungeons and Dragons after work last night. The party finished Chapter 3 of Storm Kings Thunder. We played late. Im up now. Not feeling motivated for the gym or pool yet. Feeling lazy. Anyway, time to update this. I might hobby later, but have a serious hankering for breakfast and pokemon go.

    @limburger <20 points>

    Tell us more about the game again. It all looks really cool. And 4ground stuff? You lucky duck! Reading some books? You need to paint dude! I think you might have to start looking at a commission painter my man.

    @torros <30 points>

    Game looks like a lot of fun. 30 points. Whats the deal with the hawaiian shirts? I like that the rules are originally French.

    @biggabum <25 points>

    Hectic as usual? Is the doggie ok? 25 points for the bain. Looks good. The range makes you want to paint for painting sake? Wow! I created a Monster…

    @evilstu <25 points>

    10 points for responses to people. That sounds like a cool idea for a Brettonian army. Ill come back to AoS in a minute, but its nice to have an ogre player here 🙂

    15 points for the Cultists. What range are they from and game are they for?

    @mage The Vet thinks its a bug she’s picked up and gave her a couple of injections last night and told them to take it to their own Vet on Monday if there was no improvement. I haven’t spoke to them this morning yet, they’re at the Son in Laws parents, so won’t find out till they get back.

    Thanks, i’m fairly happy with him. Yeah, I like the WWX mini’s a lot but not so much that I would paint them for paintings sake. There’s something about the Batman Mini’s that scream “Paint Me”.

    Glad things are better with the pooch.

    Which minis are screaming at you?

    @mage funnily enough for the longest time my only interaction with the 40k fluff was the Gaunt’s Ghosts and Horus Heresy books. Since I’ve been trying to complete projects I’ve been getting back into the lore and it was pure happenstance that three books I liked the look of all shipped in shortorder, whilst the Primarch books are forming a nice stack for later on.

    I do read fairly broadly across the SF & Fantasy genres, but most of the authors I read have either put out books recently that I’ve already read/listened to or have books coming up in the next few months. So for the moment it’s a bit of a Grimdark-fest 😛

    @evilstu glad the link was handy. The ammo cook-off mod just scares the beejezus out of me  -flashbacks to Mechwarrior 3 in the mechlab and we couldn’t work out why one of my lancemates kept dying as soon as he fired his LRMs. Turns out 4 LRM20’s on a Catapult with minimal heatsinks is bad ju-ju,both for them, their target, and you if your stood too close 😀

    @biggabum now THAT,  is the Bane that broke The Bat!

    Built a couple more infinity models – quite funny how the crouching Kanren hacker is almost as tall as the Kuang Shi….

    Oh yeah, and i started building one of the two Knights from Renegade 🙂

    Yeah, lots of goodies. I’d swear I had forgotten about 4ground being part of their kickstarter, but with zero info on when stuff is shipped it caught me by surprise. I think I’ll leave it in the box, because I don’t have any safe place to store the blacksmith once it is completed. 🙁

    Killteam factions seem to vary in composition from the single unit type only (Harlequins) to veteran cannon fodder (chaos) to lots of choice (orks, necron and tau)

    @mage :

    commissioned painting ? nope. Then I’d be giving another chap a workload of a lifetime.

    Reading is cool … besides in this heat it’s about the only thing I can do without a lot of sweat.

    The minis in the Dawnfall game look creepy and great.

    Well Bane’s finished. Personally I would have preferred to add another layer of highlights and do the glass on the crushed Bat Signal a different way but I was under orders from Chris to keep him dark.DSC_0207

    As @dracs was talking about his beloved Home Guard. I thought I would continue the theme with this

    15 more for Bane. Looking good. Squished search light looks good. Some tough decisions.

    @limburger

    But you could provide someone with steady employment for the forseeable future. Kill Team is sounding interesting.

    @tuffyears <5 points>

    Good stuff, 10 points. Always nice to see battle pics. 5 points for the Kill Team list.

    @dawfydd

    I really need to get back into reading. 10 points for the mini assembling.

    @torros have heard of DBM but regrettably that’s about as far as my knowledge goes. I did pick up the Warlord Games ‘Waterloo’ starter and familiarised myself with the enclosed Black powder rules set amd then downloaded the Pike and Shotte and Hail caesar PDF’s when they were up for free download a while back. Have skimmed through both of those and the underlying framework seems to be broadly consistent, so I can possibly leverage off that initially for an entrepot into smaller scale massed combat rules to see if it takes my fancy before exploring anything more tailored. I might look into getting some smaller scale stuff and see if I can paint it reasonably as a starting point. At least with smaller scale the upfront investment appears to be a lot lower than 28mm’s, and they’d be much easier to store…

    @biggabum hadn’t considered purple. But now that you have mentioned it in your honour purple shall it be 🙂 Gratz on Bane, he turned out really well 🙂

    @tuffyears well a movie with friends does sound like a nice diversion 🙂 Will have to admit IG do have me interested form a Kill Team perspective. Customising 15 guys to look like Steel Legion sounds much easier than doing it 200 times… DG Kill Team looks good – form the playthroughs I have watched having the pox walkers nearby should actually improve the survivability of your marines quite substantially.

    @mage a day off every now and then form training is supposed to be a good thing? Right? Or am I just intentionally mishearing things again… Cultists are Reaper Bones minis, getting press-ganged into service for my terrain challenge project.

    @dawfydd yeah Catapults were like the old Riflemen – heaps of firepower but not enough heatsinks to deal with the heat spike. So you either moderate your fire or play russian roulette… Knight looks good – how tall are those things once assembled?

    @limburger am I then not the only one who has considered a harlequin Kill Team? Six models worth of diamond patterns can’t be all that bad, can it? 😛

    Been doing a bit of writing up of my terrain challenge PLog and sparked up the 3D printer to do some siege equipment. Beyond that, busy week at work so don’t think I’ll get much else done hobby-wise.
