    I did stuff.  Cooking the Sunday dinner, then going to hobby this afternoon with something.  The shed needs a good tidy and hoover so it might just be that.

    Pirate songs, eh?

    Hope this is allowed.  Unofficial anthem of the Royal Canadian Navy, perhaps?

    (You’ll need a chunky sweater and your finger in your ear for this one!)

    Note to self – it’s a good thing that I can’t physically get to the other case that had my old Warhammer Empire Stir River Patrol army in it, and the boxes of LOTR minis….

    Love Alestorm made its way on one of these entries. Although not up to me I’d give 20 points just for that!

    Go to work and see the thread explode when I get my head around to checking things. I picked up a Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought easy build kit as it looked cool. I had the idea that I could do a quick conversion and it would be fun. I’ve seen the possibility to build customized kits according to a few chapters and thought that it would be fitting to throw some money at a Shapeways creator for clean looking results to make Star Phantom themed armor plates. I’ve decided to send this kit to my brother after painting it up as a unit for Scythes of the Emperor and spend the money on the full Dreadnought kit for myself. I thought I had a bit more strength against this IKEA Effect that would mean more money to build something cool.

    I’m still working on the Spring Clean. No abandoning that now. It just takes some love to bring the figure to life as I’ve chosen the Freelance Knight from Mordheim. My main concern was whether or not to do NMM or true metallic for the piece. I’ve decided that true metal is the way to go as I’ve just seen a tutorial by Vince Venturella on tinting and how to play with them. This is a change from my NMM thought in order to make the colors pop better. Ugh, what we learn that makes all the difference.

    @dawfydd A second go at Avengers? I don’t blame you. I might do the same before heading to work tomorrow evening. Matinee prices make all the difference. Good work on the large kits. I’m not there for building/painting and I hope not to get that invested with the cost. The idea is fun to build armies and play but I’m liking the hobby more than game concept for the moment. As you have shown there is much that can be done in the way of Imperial Guard.

    @robert Seeing as you have a bit of the Tamiya material have you used the filler putty they make for plastics? I remember that you were using the mixture of the ABS and cement to gap fill and I was wondering about other products. I recently started using Mr. Hobby for metal priming and it works pretty well.

    @limburger With a pirate theme weekender you bring the music and I tip my cap to you. Interesting to listen to and break up the regular motifs. Now my addition to the audio theme/

    @tuffyears Daddy’s busy. Here’s some other heresy to play with.

    @sundancer Moist? I don’t believe that Marines ever wet their armor, that they would admit to anyway.

    I am back. Yesterday was busier than I thought with my son and then having some guests over. I did get some hobby done. Time to go back over the thread and post some of my own progress.

    @robert the one with “who dis?” It refers to people having new phones and not knowing who is texting them because they don’t have any contacts anymore… or just pretend to so that they don’t need to reply 😉

    @sundancer I rather like The Vision Bleak. Carpathia was a cracking album.  I get the meme now, but had to google what #scnr  One day I will be down with the cool kids.

    @dawfydd more old school goodness in your finds.  Knights look good and that is a lot of minis.

    @nogbadthebad Alestorm aren’t bad, a bit cheesy for me though.

    @limburger some nice tunes!

    @mage good work on the Minotaurs.

    @tuffyears old school chaos and Black Sabbath, I think you just won the internet

    @fogh Welcome, music is always allowed.  Nice tune, when I am not headbanging I quite like a bit of folk/traditional music.

    @horati0nosebl0wer i have used Tamiya glues but not their filler.  I have used Vallejo’s Plastic Putty, it is a grand product and I think it is something similar.  I find normal green stuff easier to use than the Plastic Putty for filling fairly big holes.  I’ve started to use baking soda and superglue as a filler as well now.  Easy to use if you have a nice thick superglue.  The only issue is you have to do a bit of work with a file or knife at the end to get a nice smooth finish.

    I have a lot of music to go through and points to give out J

    For now it is casual replies!

    @nogbadthebad It’s a good suggestion! 😉

    @fogh Thanks for posting! J Interesting music. Wanna join in and show of your hobby progress? 8)

    @dawfydd Raven Guard, Last Chances, Cadians and Raptors?

    @horatin0sebl0wer I believe @dawfydd has modified a Redemptor in the fashion you describe. So you changed your mind, doing them up as Scythes instead and gifting it? Nice! So you are starting a Star Phantom force then? So cool!

    Ikea = Nurgle

    Spring Clean? This is a forum thing that I completely missed isn’t it?

    @sundancer That new forum thing just went over my head. Oh I get it now. Or they deleted the person messaging them haha.

    My sleep was not good and I am mildly zombie-ish at work for another 9.5 hours. I look forward to finishing, going home and finishing my two marines pictured as well as watching more DS9. Still grinding away through my Minotaurs. Still seventeen left for this phase, excluding older vehicles from the first rendition of the army I had a few years ago.

    Ill be helping one friend during the week finish her Moria Goblins, another do his Fyreslayers for Shadespire, having a hobby night with another friend, fingers crossed, and maybe doing stuff with a cousin and his dwarf force.
