    And it begins….

Your musical punditry is weak. Give up now and I may go easy on you @sundancer

Go easy on me? I will go where no sane person dares to go… boldly go…

Aww… going memory lane from listening to Dr. Demento as a kid. That might explain a few things.

Great googily moogily, what the bloody hell have I walked in on?!?

Got back from DnD, had some dinner, come to report back and here there’s some raucous going on! Yikes!!

Anyway, we welcomed a new player to the group this evening. A co-worker of Damian’s who hasn’t played DnD before, but watched Critical Roll.

I will refer to this person from here-on in as K. K did well for a first timer, really got into the game, was an enthusiastic participant.

We had good fun as a somewhat mixed band of miscreants, who worked to rescued a young stable-hand, Larch, from a group of brothers. It just so happened that Larch’s brother was a powerful member of a local magical order, somewhat feared by the local oppressed populace.

The party consisted of my Not-Twilight Knight fighter, a Tiefling Warlock Hex-Blade, a Cleric Of Asmodeus and a Blue Dragonborn bard.

    Not exactly “shining heroes all”…

We were quite successful. We arrived in time to rescue the lad before he was killed. We overpowered the four angry siblings. They were following the instruction of some blustery, wind-magic loving acolyte. I managed to one-shot an angry, glowing eyed, magic falcon summoned from the elemental plain of air with a thrown hand-axe.

Steve’s evil cleric sniped the air acolyte’s magic balloon as he tried to make his escape, he plummeted to his squishy death.

I should add that my dice rolls most of the night were abysmal, I actually only rolled one result that was double digits. Every other roll was lower than 9. It was a little embarrassing, especially for a fighter that didn’t actually hit anybody in combat (until I hit a bird in mid-flight). It wasn’t that my character wasn’t hitting, it was just that he was studying his opponents tactics, learning his methods and patterns before he struck. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! ?

Now Damian has to work K into our regular story, though he has plans on how. This should be interesting!

@rayzryr I think it’s the battle of the puns …

@evilstu : as with anything hobby related : plans a plenty … not enough hours in the day to implement even a small percent.

    Music is needed …

You forced my hand… so… incoming!

    #1307609

Considering the memory of every summer carnival putting out the same tune over and over and over again

    That’s it… This is War!

Err… maybe something a little bit more in the classical definition

I’ll see your Anthrax and Public Enemy… if you would follow me

I believe that Waldorf and Statler can outdo any commentary that I might in almost 40 mins (Alice Cooper included)

Muppets will also be met with Merry Melodies

Well, this all just got a little silly 🙂

First up @rayzryr (and I think @elessar2590 ? and Any other Aussies reading along…) depending on where you are hope you are Ok with the heatwave/flooding/dust storms/heavy rainfalls/damaging winds/thunderstorms happening or about to happen – take care 🙂

@limburger Fade to black was the first Metallica song I ever heard 🙂 And is possibly my favourite – well played. @sundancer and @horaati0nosebl0wer not sure if you both need a timeout or a big commendation – maybe both? 🙂 Off the record I’m embarrassed to say how many of those songs I actually remember from way back. So glad we have the internet now so that we can discover awesome music which would never receive commercial radio airplay… Yes Mars Attacks! So much awesome crammed into one script!

Very little hobby for me – so apologies for the quiet week from me… I have been tinkering a little with a Bret BSB. Might get some clean air in the back half of the week so will try and get some actual progress done and maybe post a photo (working in subassemblies for something different so not much to see yet…)

Also did a rummage through my old High Elf metal minis – I have about 30 5th ed High Elf Maiden Guard (well 29 plus an old Alarielle model) so could follow the example of @rayzryr and put together a nice little thematic high elf warband/army. Will see if I can find a bit of time.

Some older tunes, just because 🙂

Ok, I’m gonna take a break. The last 5 hours were… exhausting to say the least. A productive server decided that it doesn’t need one of his SAS HDD anymore and it all went downhill. Luckily no data was lost and most of the customers users can work but a small (very outdated) SQL instance is borked. No to get that thing running… that’ll be fun…. not.

I’ll see you… sometime in the future.

    *signing off*

    And the mighty Beaker :

I’ll tone it down since @sundancer isn’t around for the moment. I’m glad to have the input of more people with music. I agree that there is definitely much more to get a handle on because of the Internet. Having the ability to share bad jokes, good music and the hobby we all love over across the globe is great.

Since I’m on the opposite schedule for the seasons and soon enough I’ll be seeing more days below freezing. Here’s some more retro music that I loved in the days long long ago. I’m surprised they had a real video for it.

@evilstu and @rayzryr (@elessar2590 you too?).. you have my sympathies on the fire situation. Here  where I live the military has their main firefighting air unit stationed. Since we have the update from elsewhere on the site for Riverhorse kicking it up a notch with featuring the Firey sculpts for Labyrinth we’ll have this to try and liven the mood.

Now then.. we’ve got a song of ice and fire for everyone to enjoy on multiple platforms of tabletop, desktop or mobile device. I might not be as good as @blinky465 with his awesome Space Hulk work but my game is strong.

@evilstu cheers mate, keep you and yours safe too! Though you had a fire situation recently?

Where I am fire is pretty low danger right now… it’s wetter than it has been in months right now. We got hit with that low pressure rain storm. I’m north of Sydney so it wasn’t as bad as some of what they got, but still kinda damp ?

Found the old Elves? Noice! Old Alarielle has changed a bit in the new world! Do it my man! A fantasy unit, a Mordheim warband, or even a squad for that new Rangers of Shadowdeep. (I’m so going to get into that game when I get a place of my own and dedicated gaming space)

@horati0nosebl0wer the internet is the best for finding old music and useless information! I’ve been going through finding YouTube channels for old bands that I heard “that one song I really liked” then listening to as much as I can of the rest of the work. Especially for stuff that I heard after I got married.

Case in point right there: Green Jelly! I heard one damn song of theirs, and never heard of them again! That one damn song is what I sing now when I’ve got a crap song stuck in my head and I wanna push it out.

    That one song?

    Of course!

I always loved the Fireys, they were probably my favourite Goblins. In the old C64 game you had to persuade them to loan you body parts!

Off to YouTube for me… later. Gonna listen to this interesting mix tape you guys have put together and catch up with the Weekender and XLBS.

No hobby for me last night. Back in to painting tonight though. Elves await!
