1. How did you get into the hobby
Heroes Quest and Talisman 2nd Edition. The first WD I bought had extra characters for Talisman in it, it looked like fun. Many empty wallets later, I’m still in it.
2. Are we nearly there yet
I’m not sure but with fresh Anzac bicies anything’s possible
3. Whats the air speed velocity of a swallow
Somewhere between a chicken and a racing pigeon
Pledge would be to finish off Morvahna the Dawnshadow, before moving off onto a different model, again. I’m a terrible hobby butterfly. I’m almost there. I think. Once I paint the head and put that into place, we’ll see how she looks. Also the base needs work, it looks okay but missing something, or a lot.
November 24, 2019 at 1:05 pm #1459435For anyone whose interested in the @comodorerob house for the RPG – check these out – for anyone whos not… avert yer eyes! lol
You arrive at a strange house…
There is a mysterious knocker (not part of a pair, how unfortunate) but you proceed to hammer on it anyway…
You are greeted by a mysterious man… a mysterious drunken man… a mysterious drunken mastery kind man!…
You take your seat at the table of legends…
You notice a greasy head patch that could only have been left by a grumpy old priest!…
You retire for the night into the haunted priests’ room on the very top floor… (mind your head!)
And that’s where you see the horrific!!!!………
Sweet dreams OTTers!!!!!!!!

I think we all got a bit distracted with this discord thing.1.) How did you get into the hobby
I once heard something about this weird shop on the radio.
Being a student meant that I had travelling by public transport was free so I took a train and managed to locate it.
It was there I discovered D&D andWarhammer Fantasy RPG and White Dwarf.
Advanced Heroquest was soon to follow.
That initial shop dissappeared, got replaced with another one … discovered Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun, the White Wolf’s RPG’s. Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Rogue Trader aka 40k 1st edition. It would be a few more years and discovering Flames of War at a gaming convention followed by finding this website.
2.) Are we nearly there yet
That depends on where ‘there’ is. We might be there already.
3.) whats the air speed velocity of a swallow
What kind of swallow ?
African or European ?
And is it loaded with (coco)nuts ?The internet has the answer :
http://style.org/unladenswallow/
“… the average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second ..”

November 24, 2019 at 7:24 pm #1459534November 25, 2019 at 4:00 am #1459592Hey!
Late to join, but getting involved ?
My pledge this week will be putting Squad markings on Space Marines, updating my Elven project and playing D&D tonight.
Answers?
1. Like @warzan Heroquest was a major hook, the other was Space Crusade. The Fighting Fantasy books definitely had an influence. I also has multiple members family involved in various elements of the hobby as I was growing up as well. So I feel that it was probably inevitable…
2. Nearly there? We’ve only just begun!
3. Urr, I don’t know?!?
*screams as he is launched into the chasm*
Back later!!
November 25, 2019 at 5:29 am #1459593Good morning! Forgot my pledge: will finish this here guy and his ride
Huzza, now of to a productive day!
November 25, 2019 at 11:20 pm #1459926Godtear has arrived … I have ascended !
😉
ok … so bad joke
The Dwarven team :
All unique sculpts, but it does look a bit like daddy dwarf and his kids / halflings 😉
Nice amount of detail, soft-ish plastic, better than boardgame standard quality
I’m not a fan of the big empty box, but it does give each team the same size box.
The only sculpt I don’t like is the big fleshy blob champion Grimshalla from one of the maelstrom teams (the yellow team colour).
I think it’s the material that doesn’t really allow that mini to be at its best.November 26, 2019 at 2:23 am #1459973- How did you get into the hobby?
40k 2nd ed
- Are we nearly there yet?
Getting closer to the apocalypse for sure!
- Whats the air speed velocity of a swallow
On Mars or on Venus?
Hobby wise is a bit light as I prep for Dragonmeet. Lots of good stuff going on though there!
The Team!
The game we are recording!
The other game I am running
Plus I am hosting a panel at Dragonmeet.
So lots going on.
Also got paid for some freelance writing for work on Cubicle 7’s “Wrath and Glory” revised rulebook 😀
November 26, 2019 at 11:07 am #1460111Hey everybody!
Time to catch up with everyone, be sociable-like…@warzan
the mushrooms are looking great! 3D printed are they by the looks of it. Where did you get the files from?
I like the way you’ve just done th esimple colours, I would probably overthink it and try all sorts of shades and washes. And then under UV light? Glorious!@robert mate c’mon you PLEDGED to NOT cut yourself! XD
@sathrin ANZAC biccies, nice! Bake them yourself then? Where’s the Morvhana mini from? I like the transition on the neck of the Antelope-Wildebeest-thing and great detailing around the edge of the cloak!
@warzan lol! That was quite an adventure! Well, put me down as “Scare-roused”.
@tuffyears I love that classic on Blanche art. What did the Dwarf LoL box contain?
@limburger thats… quite a bit of stuff!
@doctorether busy busy! Congrats on getting published work!
