@limburger Yup, wargaming paints. So GW and AP mainly
@sundancer Sucks about the parts
@rayzryr Busy busy indeed. Bombur has been finished. Im working on Bifur and Bofur. And Boba Fett. Hm, alliteration. Im hoping to get them all finished tomorrow. An afternoon/evening of work should finish off Fett and the two Dwarves. Im also working away on Radagast.
The wolf is finished.
Her Gotham City Sirens crew is quite solid. She’s learned quickly with techniques and accuracy.
Oh, Im not retouching the colours. It was practically white all over from storage / sunbleach so I made this up as I went along. I asked for direction several times and got none. So, I kind of used my own judgement. The owner is extremely happy with it. Yeah, she has a strong emotional connection to that piece.
It is indeed attached. Yep, Cork placemats. They were only two euros each at the supermarket. Clearing old stock for Christmas. It seems to be working fine, in fairness.
Awesome old school bowmen btw.

@evilstu For the Goblins? A table? Like do a Goblin town faithful to the movie and replicate it as closely as I can wihle making it practical to play on.
@rayzryr That isn’t Weezer in the video. They are all actors with Weird Al dressed as and imitating Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo.
@querion Love the deepkin!
November 22, 2018 at 3:27 am #1305471Some of the progress from earlier yesterday
November 22, 2018 at 4:28 am #1305494@rayzryr I’d say push the contrast a little higher in your red. You can see the shine spot in the blue jewel as a point of interest but after your wash the reds seem slightly dull. Good plan to kick the bases up a notch like you did the dark elves.
My project idea I think might better be served just with the bust that I ordered from Shapeways. I know there are a couple different directions I can take it which will be interesting visually but painful for me to paint. I look at stuff over at Putty and Paint and think of how I can push my experience level higher.
@mage Wow, I need to get done with my behind the scenes project to get some stuff up here. Getting so much done is motivating me to throw on some painted goodness as well.
@sundancer Fell the power of the Dark Side… with Milliput Black! Seriously though, I’d say carve out the areas where the arms are supposed to go, stick in some wire and build up the flowing robes with greenstuff. I’d say it was easier as far as detail work because the robes only have the folds to them that you might need to match. Thankfully you have the correct hands on the weapon and don’t need to worry about sculpting that. I’d guess that maybe the section you’d need to worry about it 4-5mm from the shoulder to the elbow and another 2-3mm to get to the gloves. I’ll link to a guy on YouTube that presents videos pretty well. I used some of his hints here and there to do some of my mods. All in all I think you’ll just need to find the proper angles for the arms and then you’ll be right as rain.

If those where 40k Orks… but not with delicate models like that 😉
November 22, 2018 at 12:14 pm #1305668@sundancer I understand the sentiment. To have whole figures is always a plus. I’ll say that using 24Ga. wire and sculpting replacement hands sculpted by Werner Klocke on Reaper minis for weapon mods is tricky. I picked up a few copies of a maid he did for the company and started cutting off an odd fitting hand. Replacing an empty right hand to be wielding a pistol for one figure and a second copy holding a SMG was fun. Its a good juxtaposition to the dainty feather duster in the left and somewhat shocked expression she wears.
@mage Good to see minis painted on a board. It irritates me to see legal play for Warma-Hordes with bare plastic forces.
November 22, 2018 at 12:30 pm #1305669Yeah I always thought that was bonkers with warmachine. Never saw it in person but heard about it online
November 22, 2018 at 12:54 pm #1305671@mage that’s awesome that your friend is really happy with your work!
Bloody Weird Al. ?
Yes, I really like the way you’ve done the Wolf.
@horati0nosebl0wer if they were more than rank n file I’d probably do more work on the red. But if I paint all the minions to the standards of the bosses, I’ll never get through ?
Putty and paint is just redonkulus! Absolute talent there! Time and patience I’d say are two heavy factors in getting your skill/ XP up.
@sundancer a one armed Guard? He lost it in a battle with a Jedi?
Can you email FF with pictures? Maybe they will send a replacement part?
November 22, 2018 at 12:59 pm #1305673@rayzryr if you look closely you can see his hand is on the weapon in attack stance and what’s missing the arm is the section from upper arm to the wrist. But I already mailed Asmodee (Germany) and the support call reads “waiting for parts”. Let’s hope that doesn’t take ages.
November 22, 2018 at 2:48 pm #1305723November 22, 2018 at 8:31 pm #1305773Ah, pardon me @mage I was unclear: I meant your work on the keepsake piece.
November 22, 2018 at 9:06 pm #1305791November 22, 2018 at 9:13 pm #1305792Tell you what, Legion is looking better now there are starting to be a good variety of heroes available. Saw Jinn Urso (sic) announced today. Director Krennic and Grand Moth Tarkin not far behind? And then the fanboigasm that is Thrawn. Actually think he’d be fun to paint, just like Ackbar.
