As someone from Northern Ireland, Sons of Anarchy Season 3 was fairly unwatchable. I quite enjoyed the rest of it, though.
@dawfydd good work on the mini construction. GW are releasing a lot of really nice models at the moment.
@blinky465 i’m sure that is frustrating, especially something as cool as Castle Greyskull. Hope you can get it worked out.
@limburger I think the World Record score for an International is 140 points, New Zealand v Japan in the World Cup in 95.
@evilstu good work on the minis.
March 17, 2019 at 10:43 am #1362568@mage ah yes, Death Note. Such a nihlistic show, but true to the manga and very, very slickly put together. and how the hells did I forget Bleach? That’s the only Shonen series I own every volume of (all 74 of them!). Funnily enough where the show stops the manga carries on for another 30+ volumes, all pretty much one arc. As bloated as it got though, Bleach always got away with having achingly cool character designs, and the show had some cracking music…
@evilstu but the constantly rotating format of Excel Saga was one of it’s charms, and towards the end it really got truly gonzo. If you can get ahold of the dub version of SAC I highly recommend it 🙂
March 17, 2019 at 12:28 pm #1362592@dawydd @mage I enjoyed the live action versions of Bleach and Deathnote. I did start watching Avatar and enjoyed it but the rest is still confined to my to watch list. My favourite though is Naruto. Sadly it never turns up on Netflix or Amazon.
March 17, 2019 at 2:31 pm #1362662So. Back again. Yesterday I started the day of easy. My wife at work and my daughter and I watching The Empire Strikes Back.
In the afternoon I went to a rather long fight with Star Wars: Legion. Read all about the mayhem HERE.
More bloodshed will follow soon as in two weeks we have another SW:L tournament.
March 17, 2019 at 3:07 pm #1362674My stomach, I think, is finally back to normal. Me and my son all day today do hobby will
Hobby will be non existant but I will post later when the little man is asleep
My call of Cthulhu starter set arrived, I picked up a ship for starlink (so cool but man the game seems to have tanked), a transformer as mentioned above and a fourth switch remote (a Yoshi design).
March 17, 2019 at 3:08 pm #1362675@evilstu – it seems that I can print small stuff all day. 20mm calibration cube, inline filament filter, even managed a couple of print-your-own-terrain doorways. But as soon as I try to do something “useful” I’m either crashing the bed and blocking the nozzle, or having corners lift (and sometimes the entire structure) off the bed. I thought I’d cracked it and saw about half of the Castle Grayskull face appear.
But three hours into a five hour print and I was printing air! The nozzle had clogged (with no immediately obvious reason) and once again I was up to my elbows in acetone! So on small stuff, the raft stays stuck to the base and the model finishes before the printer decides it’s had enough.
But anything bigger than a few cm and it’s one problem after another! I think I’ll just find someone with a relatively robust 3d printer and ask for a few favours 😉
March 17, 2019 at 4:54 pm #1362730Ok, if you want something absolutely nuts to watch Netflix have this new anthology animation series up – Love, Death + Robots.
Apparently it was originally supposed to be based on Heavy Metal, and my word some of the content shows it. In several cases very much NSFW, but there are some really interesting stories in there, and a huge variety of striking animation styles. Plus they are barely more than 20 minutes long, most less. I particularly rate the episodes Three Robots, Suits, Good Hunting, Shape Shifters, Helping Hand, Lucky 13, Blindspot, Ice Age and Secret War….
March 17, 2019 at 5:07 pm #1362744@mage I’ve seen Starlink in shops, but I haven’t seen any active promotion for the game which kind of made me doubt the quality of the game itself.
Is the game itself any good ?
It feels a bit gimmicky to have to have a physical model just to swap out weapons or pilots.March 17, 2019 at 8:19 pm #1362789@limburger from what I hear Starlink is actually a pretty decent shooter, with the physical fighters being pleasantly chunky. And at least the Switch version has the option of buying Fox McCloud and his Starwing to use in game 🙂
Oh, and finished off building the Infiltrator squad from Shadowspear. used one of the trooper helmets on the Sgt, and a few spare respirator heads on a couple of the duplicate grunts. Overall I dig ’em. Intriqued to see what the options the full kit will give them….
March 17, 2019 at 8:22 pm #1362791March 17, 2019 at 8:24 pm #1362792March 17, 2019 at 8:57 pm #1362793@dawfydd I trust you found someone to split a box with?
March 17, 2019 at 9:24 pm #1362803I shall not buy Shadowspear … I shall not buy Shadowspear ….
You’re not helping @dawfydd 😉
@sundancer : that’s a dead Luke, isn’t it ? …
March 17, 2019 at 10:04 pm #1362846@woldenspoons nope, it’s going in the box with the Death Guard portion of Conquest and somewhere down the line I’m doing me some Renegades 😀 (I mean sure it would be an even more substantial force if I hadn’t sold the Death Guard from Dark Imperium, but still…)
@limburger you’re welcome 😛
March 17, 2019 at 10:47 pm #1362865LOL …
Need to finish my minions first.
I know I have told myself that in many variants before, but I’ve got a plog now so I have to finish it.The Dankhold troggoth / troggboss is unboxed and waiting for me to assemble.
The version with the big two handed hammer (two versions of the rock at the tip) is the ‘normal’ Troggoth according to the descriptions. The guy with the dead fish (sp?) and the spider dangling from the club is the ‘boss’.
Not that it matters as the weapons for both are identical.
I think I’m picking the ‘normal’ version, because the mushrooms link him to Mologg, which makes for a nice theme. -
