@warzan Mice and Mystic and it’s expansion. Great family game. Nice to paint minis too.

News on a Kickstarter I though that was dead and abandoned. The Saga World Builder.

Dear Saga Community, first of all, apologizes for the late response and the lack of communication. We will try to answer all the questions that we have received via comments, emails, form submissions, and Facebook in this update. We had delays in receiving the right boxes, as the first delivery 5 weeks ago had defective parts. But last week the final boxes arrived at our warehouse and now we are proceeding with the next steps.

Let’s hope this still get’s delivered.

@robert where did you actual get the model? Is the plastic pink or is it primed?

@warzan The one boardgame I own that I am going to use to experiment on when I get round to buying some contrasts paints is Loka by Mantic/Riverhorse.  Either one colour all over the chess pieces or perhaps two or three colours on each piece would probably give a good enough effect for hopefully not too much work.  I can’t remember how good the quality of the figures are and a more complex version of chess isn’t exactly family friendly.

If Contrast worked better on flatter surfaces, I think the Wacky Races Boardgame would fit your requirements (the standard edition comes unpainted and I want it so much but have only seen pictures of the models).   I don’t know if the Dungeon Saga models are of a good enough quality to spend a lot of time and effort on, though if you had an old set of Heroquest (I’ve a real soft spot for the figures in it) you could turn that into something family friendly.

@sundancer it is a cheap Chinese kit off eBay.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6Style-British-Fighter-Hurricane-Model-Assemble-Plastic-Model-Toys-Building-1-48/323780987203?hash=item4b62d9c943:g:-GQAAOSwtpFctyY4&frcectupt=true

It comes in random paint schemes… they happened to send me a pink one (it comes with transfers/stickers as well).  I have got a couple more and plan to use them to make cheap crashed plane terrain at some point in my life but there is a possibility I am going to build this one as is and hang it from the ceiling in the hobby shed!  Not sure if it a prepaint or pink plastic.

@warzan I’d suggest something that reminds them of Escape the Dark Castle I suppose. So either Reichbusters or Hellboy ?. Oh and I’d recommend Star Saga for in a few years time. I think the GCPD in that will go fine with contrast paints.

I’ve no idea why I’m putting this off. But I’ll take a group sprayed shot shortly and update this for each stage. Of course first I need a stiff drink for courage. Of tea. 15605968783475445378556842998031

Listening to Ram stein while painting these a good idea?

So I have gone a step closer to breaking my painters block…

Some of my paints haven’t been used in years and rather than spend hours shaking, I got a shaker.  With this and a airbrush in the shed, I might just do nails instead of models!

ah … it’s for shaking nail polish things … it’s interesting how gear and material from other hobbys (sp?) are useful in this one, isn’t it ?

@robert I will post pictures once I get something painted.
I might want to test it with my spacemarines and uniform gray basecoat as is or attempt a zenith-ing with rattle can.
Based on the pictures in the Citadel paint app I’m feeling confident that I’ve picked the right kind of colour.

Then it’s on to my minions and possibly the zombicide green horde.

I’d forgot they were playing with Behemoth @king John’s Castle.  Second time I have missed Behemoth this year!

@warzan Thanks, mate, it was fun to do, and I think we all realised you were a little busy with your UFOs last weekend. 😛

Work has begun on the Apothecary. I’ll try and take a pic later, but I want to get a few more colours down on him. He’s actually not taking too long, so far, which is nice.

Got some painting done this afternoon.  Started on 6 Gripping Beast Plastic Arab Infantry and will do a bit more later.  First time I have painted since March last year… built plenty recently but no painting.  Just getting base coats down and trying to mix up the colours as much as possible.  Might have a picture later.

Below is what is in store tomorrow morning.  Base coated some 10mm fantasy models… Not sure I am wise!
