@evilstu Cant remember if I replied to you or not so here goes.
Yeah so far so good. Hes a happy kid so it makes a lot of stuff easy. But he is also stubborn and boisterous. He did say he wanted Dungeons and Dragons stuff for Christmas to his mum. He just turned five.
It was a fun Halloween but next time Id rather try make my own in a cosplay sort of way. Still, building it wouldn’t be too hard.
Turpentine adds a layer of complexity I just do not wanna do, haha.
Thanks for the compliment on Albionnicans. Im finishing an alternative pose captain which should take only an evening. I have a wizard to do which has different colours and more details so it is breaking the enthusiasm and the flow of the project for me. I just gotta stop being a wuss and get on with him. Still, eight models left only. Makes a change from the days I batch painted 40 Corsairs.
The Stormtroopers will remain red as Magma Troopers with them intended as being part of Darth Vader’s personal army from Mustafar, a lava/mining.
Imperial Guards? The Emperor’s robed buddies? They aren’t out til Christmas I think. But yes.
@woldenspoons I am liking your kill team stuff, especially the table. Im hooked on terrain lately, myself.
@limburger Buy. Buy them. The Orks. Buy the Orks…
@sundancer Your Star Wars stuff is progressing nicely.
Well, I wasted my day yesterday playing Ocarina of Time for most of it. I think I needed to recharge my batteries. Im doing a painting night tonight with a friend. Hope to do a little bit more on the temple of skulls. Not sure if I should add grass or tufts to it or not. They will be hopefully finishing their Batman Miniature Game crew.
Also, I am looking forward to some D&D on Saturday! And continuing my Arcworlde and Terrain painting kicks. Also gotta work on the material that @evilstu sent me on once I finish the AoS terrain for my board (which is litterally a dusting of paint on the temple and two objectives).
October 10, 2018 at 10:26 am #1283841@mage That temple looks perfect as it is. The striations on the rocks are a particular highlight. Change nothing.
Hoping to get more games of kill team in this week. Giant shiny coins won’t win themselves.
October 10, 2018 at 11:02 am #1283864Striations? Particular highliht?
I do not understand but thank you! 🙂
Giant shiny coins you say?
October 10, 2018 at 8:00 pm #1284198@mage : I’m planning on buying Speedfreaks (that was the name right?) ‘cuz them buggies look great.
I was expecting it to be available already, but it isn’t … unless I missed it.
Then there’s the Bolt-Action stuff I’m sort of tempted to buy to finish my DAK army.
October 10, 2018 at 11:18 pm #1284282It should be a lot of fun and have a lot of nice minis @limburger
Apparently, according to rumour and complaints online, most of the Ork preorders will go up at the END of October, sadly.
October 11, 2018 at 12:49 am #1284304@limburger The orks are always fun. Its interesting to see the transfer of GW gears back to their specialist games. It looks fun and should provide some kitbashing to kit buggies like those in the original Mad Max.
Regarding BA I’ve gotten an itch for Gale Force 9’s Tanks after seeing a Let’s Play and the choice of tanks. A Pz IV J makes my day because you can’t say no to a girl in side skirts.
@mage Great terrain. I can say that working large pieces is a change from the regular 28-35mm. Here’s a kitbash steamtank I was trying to put out for my regular tabletop group. It didn’t get used and sits on the shelf but is good to see larger stuff. The beer can is for reference to scale and reminds me of what I should look out for when it comes time for the release next year.
October 11, 2018 at 1:04 am #1284307On that note of boozamahol (a technical term) I offer the following
and some more Balkan fun
A couple videos for Fallout-like listening goodness
And now for something completely different showtunes dancing and aggro Japanese cuteness
October 11, 2018 at 7:11 am #1284452More Commandos!
Tonight some legion battle (sadly still without Boba Fett). When I can remember it, I’ll take my camera tripod with me and take some pictures from a static angle in addition to my smartphone
October 11, 2018 at 8:15 am #1284475October 11, 2018 at 8:27 am #1284480You guys! OMG, check this out!
… I will never touch a brush or any hobby project again…
*steps into the corner crying*
October 11, 2018 at 9:34 am #1284547Hey Team, apologies for not getting online yesterday, got knocked out of action by a viral infection. back up to speed now though 🙂
@limburger well a full battery does seem like a nice thematic project 🙂 Of course you might need to do a fair bit of re-posing with the gun crew so that they all didn’t look too ‘same-y’. That is one great looking museum collection- looks like you could spend days checking it all out… Yeah still waiting on Speed Freeks too – heard preorders could go live next week for a late October (28th?) release date, but that is just interweb rumblings so may or may not be based on actual fact/reality. Having said that though, not much of a window for the new 40k book and kit tio land left in Orktober… 30 points
@woldenspoons sorry the last FPS I played regularly was Doom… showing my age again 😛 Normandy would be a bit of a head-smack to the senses as far as a CoD game is concerned, I’d be worried I’d spend more time looking at the scenery detail rather than concentrating on the game (I do that all the time with the Mordheim PC game…) 30 points
@mage hope the break did you well 🙂 That temple looks seriously, properly metal. Agree with @woldenspoons that it doesn’t need anything additional, of course you still couldn’t progress it further should you desire… Heh gald the little man is up for some D&D 🙂 Um, thanks for the link.. I think… actually I may be with @sundancer and just feel devastated comparatively… 😛 Nah seriously it’s great to see the love and passion that @tabletoptroubador has invested into the project. Really like the narrative focus 🙂 40 points for posts and progress.
@horati0nosebl0wer yes I would love to see an Ork buggy looking like the Interceptor from Mad Max – I’m sure someone ahs kitbashed one at some point…Nie steam tank! yes one day I will have to have a go at scratch building some models/minis. @oriskany made some larger scale armored mecha and posted them a couple of years ago, have been keen to do something similar since I saw them. I’ll be honest, I’m just not sure where I stand on Babymetal… I think I like them but I am confused?… The Beelzebub Jones and CrowSoul were both pretty cool. 50 points for posts, tunes and the scratchbuild 🙂
@sundancer congrats, great progress! 20 points.
October 11, 2018 at 9:36 am #1284548Ok team I’m going to formally close the thread at this point, but please feel free to keep posting informally until the next one rolls around? Anybody up for hosting this week?
I’ll do a tally up and declare awards etc tomorrow when I’m home from work 🙂
October 11, 2018 at 10:35 am #1284599October 11, 2018 at 8:42 pm #1284932So possibly an orkless orktober ?
that doesn’t sound right.
Maybe the trolls in the GW dungeon need a bit of *eh* stimu-la *eh* shrooms or something.
@evilstu : I doubt it is a big museum and I think they’ve got everything in those pictures.
Fluffin’ thing doesn’t have public transport on weekends, so I need to ride a bike/trike 🙂October 12, 2018 at 9:52 am #1285215 -
