    Wow , you all have been busy . Like the clip of Death with Tim Currie , always great to see some of Terry Prachatt’s Disc World .Neat looking game Linburger , you might be able to pick up some Tamiya or Hobby Boss 1/48 tank kits cheap on Ebay .  Probably better scaled and detailed ( if that’s your thing ) than the vehicles that might come with the game . And neat looking cars for Gas Land , sorry   I’ve forgotten your name .  I could go back a page or two and find it , but I’ld probably get side tracked by another post and never find my way back here lol . Nice take on the Joker mage , I think one of my kids had that toy  ‘ it’s  not a paint scheme usually seen on the more modern Joker  . Ogres look cool and really like your son’s color choices for his troops

    @a27cromwell I’ve been looking at the stuff available on the internets for this scale.
    It’s not quite as popular as 1:35 and 1:72 but there definitely are a lot of vehicles available in that range.
    IIRC there are no vehicle rules in this set.

    grrr … the expected delivery date changed back to ‘unknown’. I guess the tracking system can’t handle packages that are from outside of my country. You’d think the logistics folks would have this sort of stuff sorted by now. It’s [current year] for flockin’ sake.

    oh well … it’s not as if I have nothing to do in the mean time.
    Temperature has gone down from bloody hot (maximum was 40 degrees celsius yesterday) to acceptable today.
    Of course this means we’re back to classic post heatwave summer weather (dark, cloudy, high chance of thunderstorms).
    They even warned there could be a hail storm …

    This song could be the 40k theme song :

    more music …

    @woldenspoons As I say, when I was younger I always thought DC was too dark (although I admit I didnt read more than a handfull). Part of the blame lies in the Era I was in school, it was a time when you were either or, Punk or New Wave, Disco or Motown, Mods or Rockers, Racer or Chopper,  DC or Marvel that kind of thing. You had to be in one group or the other, otherwise it was frowned upon (and you got a chinese burn 😀 ).

    I think now I’m older I think I enjoy DC a little more.

    Great Pics of the Ultramarines vs Deathguard.

    Arrrghh Another Scourge Player. My eldest lad Matty plays Scourge (for DZC)  and has handed my UCM many a drubbing with his army. I hate Razorworms…. and Destroyers…. very difficult to shift.

    @tuffyears Kill team are excellent sir. Nice work on the Tanks too. Really impressed with how the cars turned out for Gaslands.

    @sundancer Finishing sixth isnt bad at all mate, I would have finished eighth…. even of there was only seven players 😀

    Great pics, (*coincidence* I actually go with the Han and Luke combo too)

    Blimey, I nearly fell of my chair when you said that Chop Suey was 17 years old… then I read that Debby Harry is 73… Noooooooooooo.

    @evilstu

    😀

    @mage Love old Grogg, really nice work on him. The Banshees are off to great start too, nice green to begin with, you should be able to get a good eirie blue/green colour from that basecoat.

    Liking the Joker so far, are you going to attempt the pinstripes? I didn’t…well I did but couldn’t get it right so gave up on the idea. Actually found the Animated Killing Joke on Sky (theres a couple of batman ones if your interested) still waiting for the Graphic Novel to arrive though.

    My Apologies if I’ve missed anything or anybody.

    Liking the jokers all round here. Looks a hard model to paint but I think you’ve got this.

    I may have liked marvel more as a young boy in a similar era to you I think but that was because it was all I could get my hands on. Now all those obscure comics are blockbuster movies and pay per view TV shows.

    I repeat my question about whether you really want to see a bunch of models painted gold?

    Next after my stormcast I should get back to work on my Death Guard.

    @woldenspoons We tend to throw our models in at allsorts of stages mate, from completely bare through just primed all the way to finished. I for one, and i’m sure I speak for a lot of the guys on here, like seeing the different ways people do things.

    Yeah Marvel did tend to be more readily available back then (70’s to early 80’s). A lot of the DC comics tended to be imports and you could only get them in dedicated comic shops (and the nearest one to me was in Stoke on Trent, about 40 miles away…. which may as well be the other side of the world when you’re 12). My childhood experience of Batman was Adam West (and Cesar Romero’s Joker used to scare the **** out of me).

    Good that you are encouraging others. 5 points. Thanks for the compliments too.

    Gummy Bear thing is… weird.

    Awesome stuff, it really ramps up about two minutes in. Those dudes are kinda weird and unsettling. All part of the stage act I guess. Or that old episode of Buffy or Angels that I vaguely remember is true: they are daemons hiding in plain sight.

    @limburger <15 points>

    I don’t think you will run out of hobby to do even with delayed delivery dates.

    Skullz… extremely haphazard lyrics and structure at the start and better when the temp pics up in the middle and again at the end. Chorus kinda sucks. 5 points. Dropkicks gets 10 points.

    @biggabum

    Yeah, cliques. Well, I can recommend DC ones to you if you would like.

    10 points for feedback to others.

    Thanks for the compliments. Old Grogg’s base needs to be done next, then varnish, then grass. I am not sure what to do with the banshees next tbh.

    Pinstrips? Nope, I am not that brave, lol. There is a Sky DC Movies so Ill see what’s on. Enjoy the graphic noel.

    I shan’t be clicking on Vanilla Ice dude.

    @woldenspoons

    Jokers? Not sure its intentional 😉 Marvel has permeated modern pup culture now. Yes, gold please 🙂

    @biggabum

    This. What he said. This is the place to throw up a photo of any stage of your process. No requirement for minimum basecoats, or complete. Just wherever they are at now. It’s a support/social/encouragement group.

    I’m off home after a night shift soon and will sleep for a few hours. Lets say we get the thread up to 150 posts? I’m gonna post updates to the thread around 15:00 when I start doing hobby. Making a fierce solo painting session today after my son goes home to his mother and then playing some Arcworlde with @irredeemable tonight.

    @mage yeah sorry bout Vanilla Ice, but at least it wasnt Paul Weller…. although the difference is akin to surviving a plane crash and getting picked up by the Titanic….

    Mmmm the Banshees, right. If it was me I would get myself an old spare mini and basecoat it in the same green as the banshees, then try heavy drybrushing a blue green colour… maybe Sotek Green? Then build up with lighter drybrushes adding white to the Sotek Green with a final very light drybrush of pure white (down strokes only tho). See how that looks…. if its no good try one of the brighter greens (one of the near flourescant ones) mixed in with the base coat green and do the same just adding more of the bright green to the mix until you reach the stage where you have to lighten the bright green then go with a yellow or white to lighten (i find adding a touch of yellow to the green/white mix gives the colour a less chalky look) then just bring it up to pure white again.
