To follow on the star wars thing I’ve been told there is a strong possibility of the LoTR series being filmed in Belfast/NI as well

@mage guess how I feel… I just turned 43…. statistically I’m “half there” if you catch my meaning 😉

I looked at DZC when it first came and again over the years and it does appeal but the price of the infantry always put me off

@torros Thats cool with LotR too. Its like 8 to 10 pounds for a few bases of metal infantry, I can’t see it being any cheaper tbh.

@sundancer You can’t spin ‘half way’ can you?

@mage being a 10mm collector for some years I compare prices to other 10mm manufacturers where 20 infantry would cost about £4

I know I shouldn’t really compare but it’s hard not to

    @torros :

With big names it’s probably both the licensing and the infamous ‘just because it can’-factor that makes them expensive.

Did I miss anyones posts or content? It is hard to keep track with my lulls between posting and the eight or so pages. Apologies if I have missed anything.

    Wowsers.

Amazing what you miss when you  A) have work coming out  your eyeballs and B) come home to find your desktop monitor refusing to switch on so you do minimal computing via tablets instead.

Also, very  cool to see the Weekender threads get a shout out on the frontpage 🙂

It’s looking like it will be kickstarter month for me 🙂

Tomorrow(-ish) the 1:48 tactic kickstarter will arrive.

And as per usual the mail man (or woman or something, can’t be sure these days ;)) is likely to try and drop it off when I’m at work. So I may get it slightly later.

Someone else has already done an unboxing of the two starter sets + rulebook :

It’s really nice to see both terrain and troops in starter sets. 🙂
Of course with skirmish games at this scale you’re going to need terrain (and lots of it) anyways.

IIRC I should have a bit more terrain and more troops, because why stop at just the basics when you can get everything, right?

Info about the kickstarter here :

    Website here :

1:48 (O scale) is one of the standard model scales used for dioramas and trains, so there’s potentially lots of terrain options to be had .
