@sundancer It would have been an interesting army of mutants… A mix of old GW Chaos Marines, Warlord Romans and Mantic Orcs, Dwarfs, Elves, Trolls and Werewolves.  All sorted, so not too worry (apart from the hour of my life I’ll never get back).

@mage & @dawfydd seems I need to find this Highlanders Animated Series and give it a watch. @mage Also thumbs up for Dio!

@horati0nosebl0wer Keep warm, my friend.  Painting Epic probably is what really put me off playing it as much even though it was my favourite GW Sci-Fi game in the 90s.

@rayzryr yeah that’s Metal Mickey.  Not often I get compliments on my movie tastes!  Appreciate it!  Finding so much stuff I forgot I had.  I’m a terrible person for starting new projects when I have umpteen unfinished projects but that is going to change… I’ve also been saying that for years!  Also must say the Helmet wings look great!

Tunes… believe it or not… the last three tunes were from 80, 81 and 82… Now for 83, 84 and 85…

With all this talk of 80s classics (and particularly MOTU miniatures) I appear to have got a little trigger happy….

    Image2

    And this….

    Image5

Going to have a word with my mate Mel Bose, aka The Terrain Tutor, to see if he’s any tips on creating a Castle Grayskull (of course it’s going to have flashing LED eyes and a mechanical/motorised drawbridge)….

Not much time for hobbying this weekend – I need to earn some brownie points at home to cover this latest splurge 😉

(in other news, Alice Cooper turned out some half-decent tracks towards the end of the decade – not just his #1 hit Poison, but quite a few on the Trash album were pretty good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbFU7Qeh-b0)

Quick post from the kids club:

@robert they were a Christmas present that my son got. Clay models, a bush and paint from a cartoon

@blinky465 wow, lower of suggestion bad nostalgia. Did you watch ‘the toys that made us’ on Netflix?

Cant hide myself I bagged myself the original hero quest on eBay a few days ago… it was pricey but contained an expansion with the extra soldiers

Okay I have basmati rice cooking, fishfingers in the oven (poverty diet haha) and my socks off. On Wednesday and Thursday it was pretty warm for both the end of February and the south west of Ireland. Now it is 2 degrees Celsius with snow falling but not sticking to the ground. We all know what that meends? Weekender thread time!

I really enjoyed the Action Force/GI Joe comics. Collected the toys too. Another franchise I dream of wargaming. Although, obviously I’d want to be Cobra. HISS tanks are the best!

I did some hobby, applied blood and rot to my walkers and lashings of chaos black to bases. I also finally got around to assembling my cargo containers, battlefield terrain and Redemptor Dreadnought. He’s a big boy!

Also nearing the end of Umbrella Academy. What a series!

Okay so I have finally got off my behind and did some hobby after tidying up and stuff.

I’ve been doing mostly fantasy stuff for the last few months. Im still enjoying it and still want to do more Fantasy stuff be it AoS, Frostgrave, D&D or Middle Earth stuff. Probably more stuff I cant think of at the moment. Also Mordheim.

But I have a lot of sci fi stuff on the backburner too as well as some pseudo historical/modern stuff to tear into too. I dont want a lot painted for a portion of my games and nothing done for the other portion. So, I have gotten back into scifi with a little 40k. I think I will devote a month to one genre and a month to another.

for now it is one half of dark imperium AND conquest magaine: The Space Marine one. I am painting up as Minotaur Space Marines from the Badab War. Astute readers will no this came before the Ultima Founding and the advent of the Primaris marine. However I do already have a Minotaur army (not even basecoated) that these Primaris marines added on as a sort of mixed force. Growing pains eh? Right now I am getting all the Primaris stuff together and batch painting them. Then Ill return to the stumpy marines. Im doing the bronze/brass and other basecoats. So far I have done two layers of gold and will soft tone it down to the right dulled metal.

Im excited! Cold here though. Finishing more housework and then gonna firmly get into more of the painting groove.
