I know there is something of a cult regarding Heroquest and I just noticed that the Amazon Black Friday sale in the UK has it going for £48 if anyone interested.

Some of the expansions discounted too.

Not played it myself, so not sure what the big deal is.

German amazon has the add ons on sale. Base game still goes for a ridiculous 120€

Are the models really as bad as the weekender made them sound?  I’m tempted if it drops cheap enough just for nostalgia, but im put off by them being the wrong version of the models.  If they’re too soapy too, I’m definitely out.

I couldn’t tell. I haven’t had them in my grubby hands. Maybe youtube can solve that mystery?

For £48 definitely worth it. It’s a fun game, with a set of missions to complete, and lots of extensibility (there’s already half a dozen or so expansions).

Weird. Seems there are two Heroquests with same box art. One by Avalon Hill and another by Hasbro. The latter is £77 and not £48.

Amazon also have that massively overprice Descent 3 on sale at £80… so it’s only overpriced now.

Miniatures are soft plastic used in boardgames. Give it a pass if you prefer the hard plastic sprue stuff.

Good game for the kids and casuals. Most OTTs would prefer more complicated games, but would be fine playing it with the cousins during the holidays.

If you have never played or owned HQ and are even slightly curious then I say jump in now at a good price 🙂

Regardless of the minis the game itself is breezy and fun and a great intro for new gamers too.

So I wouldn’t worry about my old grognard tastes on the minis (ive been spoilt over the years lol)

I loved the original.  Im offput by the fact that these minis arne’t MY sculpts.  It doesnt feel right to me.  Anyway, KDM got a lot more money out of me than expected today, so Im not getting HQ now unless there’s a much better deal.  Next time perhaps.
