    I’m really glad you got it all worked out and got some test pieces done.

     

    Please don’t take the returned result as a representation of the normal quality of a 3D print. From the images you’ve posted I can see that whoever printed them really needs to tune their machine.

    The ‘line holes’ in the surface and the peeling (bending) of the sides/corners are easily rectified by someone willing to spend a little time and some understanding. I wouldn’t have sent them out to anyone if I was doing it. bit naff really.

    Either way, i’m really glad your theory and test worked! I imagine they will look ace with some nice vines climbing up the side of them!

    To be honest, I have nothing to compare them with as to what is good or bad. I was expecting some ‘stepping’ and was planning to using some light filla to act as ‘render’. Otherwise, at 15mm scale, the imperfections aren’t that noticeable and hopefully a half decent paint job and some decoration as you suggest it should be good enough. I’ll post the results into the project I’ll fire up.
