Came across this on Linkedin and thought it could be interesting to people here. I knew GW had done well through the pandemic but even so these bonusses are substantial.

Those evil bastards! making lots of money and then rewarding their staff, how condescending of them!

The CEO is never going to make it to space if they keep that sort of thing up!!

While very nice I think a decent pay rise would me more apt to show thanks for the staffs hard work

Bit annoyingly to lose a third (assuming basic rate) to tax.

@bubbles15 that’s the joy of any bonus but after losing a third they’ll still have a nice healthy bonus.

Well their monthly tax rate would probably go up 40% plus 12% national insurance contributions.  Hopefully the staff had the option of asking  it to be paid into a private pension so it would be iirc tax free

@torros – depends on what country the employees are in.

An article on The Guardian website dated 31/07/2021 says GW has over 500 stores worldwide, and we have one in my home town in New Zealand, which only has a population of 130k, roughly.

The article also states that GW is more profitable, percentage wise, than Google and worth more than Marks & Spencer and Asos.
