Hello. I’ve been away. Now I’m back.

And catching up with videos – and saw the greenstuff roller videos. They hadn’t finishing playing and I was throwing money at the screen. There’s also a brilliant 30% discount code, which I used and ordered a couple of rollers.

I got a regular one for £13.50 and a big chunky one for £18.27 (and also some cookie cutters).

Now applying a 30% discount on just the rollers gets me to 30% of (13.50+18.27 =) £31.77

    And 30% of £31.77 is £9.50

And the discount on my order appeared as £7.05

Of course I completed the order – I want the stuff! Just curious as to how the discount is calculated and applied, as it’s not quite the amount I was expecting…..

Discount is deducted from price before adding VAT?

    I thought about that but

    a) a retail store advertising goods less VAT (instead of showing what you actually pay) is a dodgy move I wouldn’t expect from the BoW lads and

    b) £9.50 less VAT is £7.91 not £7.05

Not *really* complaining – just curious how the 30% discount is calculated….

As a footnote: 30% of £23.50 is £7.05 – I’m not seeing where £23.50 comes from for the 30% discount to work out at £7.05

    Morning Guys 🙂

@blinky465 – I will double check the calculations mate – but at first glance remember its 30% off the RRP for CoG’s (and the store is showing it with 10% off RRP – the RRP is the greyed out price with the line through it)

So for CoG’s its an additional 20% off.

Again I will check the calculations we use but basically we calculate the % that needs to be deducted from the live price to take it down to the same level as RRP – 30% – off the top of my head I think its 22.2% thats applied.

I will have it looked into again mate to be sure it’s working as it should 🙂

Looking over your calculations mate yes I think you are not using the RRP price to start the deduction.

I went back and looked at the post and while its in there that the coupon deducts from the RRP, it’s maybe not as clear as I would like it to be so I will mention to Lloydy that we need to be more clear on that so you don’t ever feel short changed! (Thats an awful feeling and one we never ever want to convey!)

    Sorry about that mate @blinky465!

Aha. That all makes sense now.

Not so much short-changed (I completed the order and can’t wait to get the rollers) just baffled by my own maths apparently letting me down.
