    I think in regards to RPGs you just need to take the character sheets from each edition and put them side by side. There will be an increase of what to fill out on it. If I remember correctly the first edition DSA (The Dark Eye) had like 5 stats on it and that was it. (Other than health, magic etc…)

    While I don’t think Ameritrash game systems have changed much since the 1980’s (throw dice, hit things), online purchasing has made games less expensive, the internet exposed us to more games to choose from, and KS certainly has made plasti-crack more affordable. My own favorite game systems are Gloomhaven, One-Shot World (Dungeonworld), and Cheat your own Adventure, all recent games, as well as Dominion.
