    I’d imagine that forming a shieldwall with half a dozen men is kind of silly when the opponent can just run towards your rear and attack. I also expect it to require a lot of nerve to just stand there and receive the charge.

    OTOH … special rules shouldn’t dictate your tactical options. It should flow naturally from the things that (everyone) can do.
    However that is a different discussion.
