Thanks for sharing this guys. I was looking for some Soviets for Flames of War and I think this might be just what the doctor ordered!

20mm is a little large for FoW, but good for Bolt Action.

Just let us know how you got on. The amazing thing with AB figures is that there usually more poses than you could get from ANY multipart plastics (and they are all one piece, so you can get right into painting them without having to stick them together).

As far as I know UK distribution is getting up and running after moving from Fighting 15s (not sure where they are up to), but no doubt Nick will let you know the best way.

But if you do decide to drop into getting some AB figures, what forces are you planning on getting (and you’ll have to let us know how you got on)? I guess John will also be of help here 🙂 But being behind the Team of BoW I guess you can put the word out on what forces are tempting you and I guess you’ll soon be awash with lots of background info, battles and painting tips 😀

Found this site as to the impact of WW2 local to you Lloyd

    http://www.ww2ni.com/countylondonderrypt2.htm

Some really interesting stuff going on (didn’t realise there were so many US bases in the area), and that the Ox and Bucks trained at Castlerock.

    https://www.ww2ni.com/countyantrimpart2.htm

Also the link with the Belgian Army units stationed around the area also came as news to me.

So there’s links to quite a few international options from your local area (not just the locally raised regts), that might inspire you when trying to pick out a units from the mass of available options. Doing a bit of research just starts to “flesh out” your units from the usual “British” or “American” infantry options in the rules, and you really get a sense of connection as you continue to learn more about them and what they achieved during the war. But here’s a start on the slightly different stuff (ofc you still want to find out more about the locally raised units), that might perk your interest 🙂
