It’s Warlord and WW2 so I will get it. I saw the FB page today and it defiantly caught my interest.

    Looks good.

Played quite a bit of ‘Action Stations’ with Skytrex 1/600 models back in the nineties. This might be an interesting alternative.

Was wondering if some of this was the old 1/700th range (think that was what it was the scale, dunno who they sold the range to) from Skytrex that used to do these coastal battles with fast MTBs etc. You could add in games to recover your pilots from Blood Red Skies during a campaign.

Are you thinking of the old Triang range?

Off the top of my head the only ones I can think of is the 1/300 range by Heroics and Ros which might be the old skytrex range

From what remember from Warlords birthday weekend last year where John Stalard announced Cruel Seas he said it was going to be 1/300 scale.

I have got many of the old Skytrex 1/600 scale mtbs, but I must say I will be collecting these new minis from Warlord.

I cant wait to put a a raid on St Nazarie scenario using these ships.

Got to try the Demo yesterday at the open day and it was really fun to play. Even managed to come away with a sprue or two of S-Boots,

Oooooh “uber loot” there Hege 🙂

Any other impressions from the demo (how does it compare to similar games, or were there some cool mechanics in the rules?) Plus if it’s 1/300 you “could” crew them with some 6mm infantry figs 😀

I liked that if a boat gets hit, it will take damage, the only Save was against a critical which could actually alter how the ship performs, ie engine damage etc, and the save was on a 4up.

When torpedos hit you need to roll a skill check to see if its a dud or your crew manitained it properly etc, but if it damages its 16d6 worth of damage.

On the display table where they showed the other ships, some of them did indeed have crew manning guns and stations, the rulebook even states its not a real boat without its crew, lol

Looking forward to this one. I do wonder why they chose 1/300 and not 1/350 (which is a common naval scale model scale). Perhaps for use with 6mm? But I can’t wait to make some PT boat runs against some shipping!
