I still have the DP9 2nd edition RPG/Tactics game and a bunch of the supplemental books. It claims to use the silhouette system, and it really is rules for an RPG and a compatible tactics game. I loved the mech design, both the art and the models from that era. I also love the lore. The game mechanics? Ok, they had problems, but I got hours and hours of fun out of it both as an RPG and occasionally skirmish level battles. I’ve not played Blitz, but assuming it’s a more modern streamlined version in the same lore with the same style of mechs, that sounds great.

I was never a fan of the BT mech designs, which stopped me really ever getting into it. It is a shame that the Earthsiege computer games never got a tabletop equivalent, at least as far as I am aware.

I would humbly submit that you take a look at CAV: Strike Ops. It plays fast, is a combined arms game and the “buy-in” is relatively modest. We have our third KS up and running right now at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/272456130/talon-games-cav-strike-ops-iii?ref=8lyrkn We also have a intro package available online at http://www.talon.games where we include your first squad of CAV models for free with the purchase of the core rulebook!
