Some casualty / dead figures from Black Tree Design . You get 5 assorted metal figures of varying quality . Some are missing limbs ( miss casts maybe ? ) , which I replaced with spare Bolt Action plastic parts . Here’ my Russians
The German set had 2 which were really bad , so I tossed them . The Medic and his patient are a couple of plastic BA kit bashes I did a while ago from left over body parts
I’ve pretty much based all my figures with the same ground foam / grass mixture , which I’ve also covered a GW 2 foot base with , makes it nicer for photos, here’s an example
Yay , the photo posting thingy seems to working again , that’s 3 out 3 . Thanks to the guys slaving away in the office
I thought this was going to be a thread on the Axis and Allies boardgame ?
But it’s also good as I just finished my first ever 28mm tank ?
Very nice Valentine comadorerob . Which mark of Valentine is it , plastic or resin , and who makes the kit ?
Oh , a Marder III H , very nice piers . A Russian front vehicle ? What Panzer unit is it assigned to ?
Its based on one serving with Panzerjager Abt. 39 in Tunisia during March 1943.
No idea, what mark it is, but it’s the Warlord Resin version.
My little boom stick, Warlord British 25lbr Howitzer
Haven’t done much on Allied stuff lately , but have started a 234/3 kit bash using Warlord / Italeri’s plastic Puma and the 250/8 Expansion set from Rubicon . I had intended to add detail to the interior ( driver seats , steering wheels , fuel tank , etc ) but really you see very little from a game table view , and once I put a couple of crew in there , there’s no room for that stuff anyway
Been a real PIA trying to get the angles of the upper hull armor right , this is my third attempt . Something about rear panel is still looks a little odd to me … maybe I’m just over thinking it
Finally got around to finishing my 234/3 project . I added a couple of Rubicon figures with BA metal heads , some BA plastic German kit and a couple of resin ammo boxes
It was a fun and fairly easy kit bash using the Rubicon gun parts . Really didn’t need to add the bits I put in the interior ( drivers’s seats , ammo rack , transmission housing on floor ) as you can’t really see anything inside even with the crew removed .
Finally got around to using the other 75mm gun from the Rubicon Expansion kit , here’s a 251D-9 . You get both the 251 C & D upper hull in the expansion kit with the gun mount replacing the co driver’s visor . I added a driver from Rubicon’s 250 kit , the gunner comes with the 75mm gun kit as does the ( headless ! ) loader .
Rubicon’s half tracks come with both a full and half tarp roof cover , since I’ve used both already on 2 of my tracks , I cut this one back a bit ( razor saw & miter box ) just to look different and leave some space for the loader and maybe a commander figure. I guess should be called Axis & Axis as the other tank I finished is a Japanese Type 97 Chi – Ha . I built this as a scenery piece , so I depicted it as being knocked out with blown open transmission hatches and just the commander’s arm in view in the hatch . I still need to make a scenic base for it , but as my basing material has hardened in the package ( note to self , double seal air dry clay ) it will have to wait for now . Probably end up giving this to a buddy who plays Japanese
You can build either an early 57mm version or the later 47mm larger turreted version with revised upper hull from this kit , and no you can’t build both turrets and swap the them around , you only get one commanders cupola , 2 of 3 needed machine guns and only one driver’s front plate . So much for my idea of a buried tank hull type pill box
