I think GW are clocking in at 26 pounds after the increases.

With Greebo you get 14 mins (which I think are all individual sculpts) a minotaur and 2 Bull Centaurs. With GW those last 3 minis would be produced by Forge world so that’s potentially 75 pounds on their own.

Pretty much balances out for a full team.

I think Greebo have converted everything across to resin now as well – whereas before they were all white metal –  not sure that matters anymore! But yeah I have bought some Greebo stuff and they are really characterful models.

    Thorsson Stoutmead

A great mini. I saw on the Bonehead Podcast they were guessing at how big he will be, guessing that he might be on a 40 mm base. I am hoping he is a big lad – at least justify the price tag which no doubt is going to be close to £30 if not more!

Not the Norse Star Player I was hoping for however.

Way way way back in 2nd Edition (I think) there was reference to a Vynheim Valkryie Star Player berkserker call “Magnus Axeface Manglesson) – he never ever got a miniature (as far as I know). I would loved to have seen him finally after 30+ years.

Hopefully there might be at least a reference to him in the SPIKE!. Typically they normally show case 3 star players, so you never know.

I would guess the 3 Star Players will be:

IcePelt Hammerblow – a star player Yethee who has been kicking around for an age (again never got a mini I believe)

Thorsson Stoutmead – who is showcased above

    and hopefully the aforementioned Magnus.

I don’t remember when the Norse team arrived but I don’t remember them well if at all (I had a long hiatus from 1994) so Thorsson Stoutmead is new to me. He’s utterly magnificent though!

The beery Viking team? With my reputation? With two incomplete blood bowl projects already in the Pile?

yeah sorry that may have been my wording – Thorsson I believe is completely new.

Ha ha loving the paraphrased Fast Show Quote “me on a boardgame site, playing games, with my reputation…?” etc.etc.

And in common with a lot of my comments on this site I was very, very drunk! ?

    ha ha excellent!

“Reminds me of a time when I popped into my local Warhammer store to buy a Dominion Zephon miniature, time I was waiting to be served I  checked some old lottery tickets and had actually won the jackpot twice, managed to buy some tickets to watch REM play an impromptu concert, got a nomination through for a Nobel Prize as I had discovered a cure for cancer, and then reaching into my bag for my wallet I found the original copy of the Bible. Which was nice.’

The Norse team have already been linked on the site, but in addition to that the final outstanding (and I mean missing not great) Star Player from the 2nd Edition Rulebook has finally got a miniature!

    Silly.

    Got to love it.

and just in the interests of completeness

    Norse

    Expensive time for BB players!

Looking at how quick BB stuff is getting churned out (by previous GW standards anyway) got to assume that when they hired the guy behind Winzor Chog he basically has been tasked with getting this range out there.

The silliness of the new Blood Bowl stuff compared to the miniatures they were producing from 2016* onwards is noticeable. Not just the Norse stuff we are seeing but Scyla has definitely been a highlight of a return to the “classic” Blood Bowl tropes.

*Those minis were still great – just a bit more serious that 2nd edition.

Since I last posted on there, we have saw a whole new BB team and Star Players get pre-viewed (seemingly delayed for unknown reasons) then eventually released!

I also signed up to go to Warhammer World in October and play in the full beard blood bowl cup.

If anyone else is there let me know!

    Full Beard Cup update.

I am taking a Dark Elf Team – The Novacastarian Nightmares.

    2 Blitzers

    2 Runners

    1 Witch Elf

    6 Lineman

    1 Willow Rosebark.

    2 Team Re-Rolls.

This will mark the 1st time A) I am entering a tournament B) The 1st time I have played Blood Bowl in anger in 30 years!

I am not expecting much, but if I surprise myself I shall post pictures of ALL the trophies I win next week!

If all goes well I may even enter the NAF World Cup next year in Spain!

    Full Beard Cup Update.

    Played 5, Drew 3, Lost 2.

Should have won my second game.

Last turn of the game its 1-1. I have a dark Elf blitzer with the ball 8 squares from the end zone. He only moves 7. 1 roll for go for it for the win. All I need to do is not roll a 1. After an uncomfortable spinning of the die, which seems to last for 10 mins, it comes to rest and what number if face up? Yes a 1.

From there we go onto face a Lizardman team who proceed to make every block, armour roll, and injury roll. They even add insult to injury by intercepting a pass with a Saurus on a 6. I lose 3 – 0.

Then I take on an orge team and draw 0-0 an absolute grind of a game.

Final game seems me take on another Ogre team. Who only fail 2 Bone Head roles the whole game and once again make every single block roll, armour roll, and injury roll. Causing casualties to 10 of my players. I lose 2-1.

Willow Rosebark spends 95% of the weekend flat on a her face. Not the best performance.

My Witch Elf “Lilith The Despised” lives up to her name as she soon becomes a target for everyone I play against – she racks up an impressive 8 casualties across 5 games.

I manage in total to injury / kill 15 across the weekend. Still doesn’t get me trophy with a Khorne Player racking up 22.
