thanks for the heads up – although you may have just cost me money! ha ha
September 10, 2021 at 4:02 pm #1676784September 14, 2021 at 12:16 pm #1677377Blood Bowl in on the list, let’s start discussing wish lists and rumours and wild speculation now!
September 14, 2021 at 12:18 pm #1677378September 14, 2021 at 1:03 pm #1677379@sundancer By new teams are you thinking Legend teams who haven’t had a refresh in years? Or totally new Teams?
I saw on one of the Bonehead Podcasts they think we are going to get a Khorne themed team due to some of the recent star player teases. They were suggesting that Khorne replaces Norse much like how Imperial Nobility did away with Bretonnians (although Brets still feature in the offical fluff).
September 14, 2021 at 1:17 pm #1677392Entirely updated rules would be nice. Lots of companies are now offering proxies for Blood Bowl but, let’s be honest, the GW models are pretty darned cool and there aren’t many third-party minis you could honestly say are “better” (ok, except maybe humans – but with the nobility team, even humans have a couple of pretty good-looking minis that are doing more than just standing around!).
I’ve never really been a fan of “alternative” Blood Bowl races outside of the core fantasy ones: humans, orcs, elves, dwarves and their derivatives (like dark elves, goblins, trolls, ogres) – I mean, I tolerate skaven, chaos and undead simply because they were included in the 2nd edition rules, but I’d rather pretend they don’t exist – lizardmen (are they called skinks now?) still don’t, for me.
So while some new teams would be cool, there are already some pretty nice models (from all the “core” races) out there already. I’d much rather see a completely overhauled ruleset that is both fun and fast to play.
September 14, 2021 at 1:40 pm #1677394@blinky465 totally agree on the GW Blood Bowl minis being the best – don’t get me wrong I have bought a shedload of 3rd party stuff where GW figures don’t exist (Chaos Pact / Renegades and Norse I am looking at you guys), but I would still buy a GW Norse team or GW Vampire team if they dropped new ones.
My biggest want is still and official Chaos All Star team – even though I have spent far too much money on my proxy team.
Failing that any of the team of Legends, with the AOS Bonereapers I am sure GW could do an awesome new Khemri Team or likewise with all the AOS Vampire minis give us a Vamp team with new rules.
I am hoping whatever comes out of GenCon its not just release dates for the 3 Star Players they have teased – although knowing when they are coming out would be nice!
If its not teams and its supplements a standalone Star Player Spike or book would be good with rules for all the Star Players left over from BB2016.
Dark Elves had about 6 star Players in their Spike and you can only buy 1 official mini, the same for Wood Elves.
September 14, 2021 at 3:00 pm #1677421Star Players are always nice to see. They tie the fluff to the game really nicely. I’m still convinced I love the idea of Blood Bowl more than I like the actual game (which can be a bit of a grind after a couple of hours, especially when playing against a “cage” all the time). The fluff and the humour is what made Blood Bowl cool for me – and the Star Players are a big part of that.
Yeah, more Star Players would be good (but please, not just another Griff Oberwald remix).
September 14, 2021 at 3:08 pm #1677422totally agree, I have spent far too much on Blood Bowl since the 2016 version and I have literally played it 3 times in 6 years!
it’s a wonderful idea, a wonderful setting, wonderful miniatures and components, but ultimately an ok game at best.
I will still buy more however! ha ha
September 17, 2021 at 1:43 pm #1677871https://www.blacklistgamesllc.com/post/myth-goal-design-diary-5-solo-league-advanced-play
Solo play and strategy cards sound really exciting.
I’m still desperate to fully understand how this game plays – I guess there isn’t long to wait now! But all of the developer diary entries suggest it’ll be quite an interesting game in its own right.
And *solo play* for a fantasy football game? That’s cool, right?
September 17, 2021 at 3:05 pm #1677904@blinky465 I do like the idea of Solo play, if you are running a league and someone couldn’t make it you could just solo it.
September 20, 2021 at 7:54 am #1678269Well the Bonehead Podcast was correct.
A new Team for Blood Bowl was previewed at GenCon 2021.
I was hoping for a bit more, but I cannot say I am totally disappointed!
September 20, 2021 at 8:50 am #1678285That’s two of the four ruinous powers with their own teams. I’d best crack on with my Tzeentch themed team before GW do it for me.
Damn they look good.
September 20, 2021 at 9:39 am #1678307@somegeezer I know what you mean, I did my Chaos Chosen team as Tzeentch – lovely metallic blue armour, now I am starting to think we might in time see a feathery blood bowl team appear!
Wasn’t an overwhelming GenCon for BB, but with a new team (and no doubt accompanying Spike, Pitch, cards and dice), and 3 star players on the horizon, at least we know second edition has a future for the remainder of the year!
September 20, 2021 at 2:20 pm #1678379now we have a new team, and the positional names, what do we think of for stat lines and starting skills?
Bloodborn Marauder Linemen – with these being Khorne do we think they will come with Frenzy as standard? and maybe just standard Chaos Renegade lineman stats?
Bloodseekers – Same as Chaos Chosen Blockers but with Frenzy?
Khorngor – normal Chaos Chosen Beastmen? but again with Frenzy?
