    Hello ?

I’m looking to put together some decent swamp bases for my Troggoth army in AoS , as far basing goes I’ve generally just popped a bit of texture down and painted it by with swamp bases I’m looking to go a step further as he army list has a very low model count and let me do a little more with it.

So I’m looking for some recommendations please for the best companies who do good basic material, swamp is the theme so I’m looking for moss, lichen and heavy grass effects. Maybe some leaves and lillypads too

I’m looking to hollow out the GW bases they all come on and using some plasticard to stick to the very bottom and build up the scene from there so the water effect comes up the the top of the Base

I’ll post some test pics of what I mean soon but I’ll the basing material I have now are vehicle basic, hence the topic, why companies would you guys recommend?

    Cheers

Mininatur is probably by far and away the best,

Woodland Scenics is a close second and may be easier to find.

Javis  and Noch also may have something that fits the bill for you and supply a lot of model and rail shops

Check out aquarium plants on ebay for leafy brush and watch this tutorial from Paepercuts on how to  build it using bought materials along with natural bits for a realistic effect.

Those are some great links there Gerry,  consider them bookmarked!  Thanks for the reply

That tutorial is fantastic, loved watching that and picked up some good tips I think. The bases for the Troggoths are all fairly large so there’s room to add some of those great details.

I also now know what a kopi cone is now so… today was a good day!

Any time, that’s why we’re here to spread the knowledge like a hobby hive mind.

Look up this video from Luke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAnmN3M-LZQ

He has his company Geek Gaming https://www.geekgaming.co.uk/

Better and cheaper than all the big ones, and he has the tutorials for almost everything up on his channel.
