Some time ago, when there was a kickstarter for printed coloured miniatures going, Many were wondering if this is the future of miniature hobby, will we ever see a machine capable of producing 3d printed minis in colour in quality comparable with well executed painting. Well I guess we’re closer than ever, technology is already figured out, now it is only a question of building up the scale and thus bringing prices down.

They don’t say, and I guess for a reason. This is service is aimed at commercial clients for prototyping and other applications requiring low number of items reproduced. I believe that with necessary advisory and prep time it may translate into hundreds if not thousands of dollars per item. Not something anyone is probably ready to pay in gaming industry right now. But 15 years ago the same was true about ordinary resin printing which is now booming.
