@robert – HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It was mine last wednesday…52. I would go back to Uni tomorrow, but I wouldn’t have a clue what to do. Nice cake. I like cake. 500pts. I also like the PSC half-tracks. They are also very tasty.

I was going bald at 16, but as my head was shaved soon afterwards and remained so for quite a few years. It was then that I noticed it had not receded, but retreated. Fuck hair.

That is an oldish Nurgle mini. Nice foul coloring. 50pts. I have the even older versions arms somewhere…I saw them a few days ago when I was clearing up some junk.

Keep up the good work. I almost have my little bits sorted too.

I think that’s the last we see of that spacemarine ‘cuz he’s not going to survive that 😉

I’ve got regular Ork boys and a deff dread (?) to do from the ‘start collecting box’ (aka : “here’s a bunch of old kits have fun”)
Once those are done I’ve got the vehicles from Speed Freakz and a few of the new Ork vehicles.

I thought I had no mold lines, but never hurts to check again. I did cut a few of the armour panels to make them a bit more orky/battle damaged. I may need to check those barrels as they aren’t clean enough on the photos. That’s the thing with pictures taken at this distance : you see more than you’d see at a ‘tabletop distance’.

Lots of stuff to do before priming and painting can begin.

    @robert 41 ?
You look a lot older than me … and I’m going to be 50 next year (I still am a kid at heart so :-D).

…told you! I was almost done what I looked for replies.

The Ratnick has never seen action yet, but he is in a couple of the lists I would like to try on the boy! I’ll make him wish he had stayed at work.

Front and back. There are a few bits that need cleaning-up, but i’ll need a bit of undercoat first. Just to be sure. However, that will have to wait until tomorrow. I am going to join my wife and watch something for a bit. If you come-and-go before I get back the see you tomorrow!

@limburger – i’m sure some of those minis are from the Black Reach set. I might be really, really wrong though.

Are you really trying to fool me into thinking a ‘cut’ or a bit of weathering is a mould line. I can assure you my head does not have buttons up the back…get back to work and less of your back-chat or you’ll feel the back of my hand! 50pts. Kids these days.

Remember this, Earthling…I see everything. Oh, that includes what you just did with your middle finger. Your boyfriend is not going to like it when I bite that off. [insert the evil laugh that Lord Xeno does in South Park]

    Hi All,
Sorry I’m late. I had to work at work today. The nerve of those people!

Pledge: First, try not to harm roofers. I have 16 acres, a shovel, and a bag of lye… and now they know it. From what I’ve seen so far I’m quite certain no one would miss them till their next parole officer appointment, and police these days are so busy tazing meth-heads they’d never have time to run down the warrant. The foreman was apparently sober when I came home, so I guess he remembered the fingertip bruise on his chest from yesterday.

Hobby! I’m teaching at the LGS tomorrow, but I’m hoping to finish building my starship crew if I don’t have too many noobs. Those mini’s have slipped down the queue lately with all the work I’ve been doing on game boards, and it didn’t help being ill for the better part of the week.

    Questions:

    1. I don’t buy ‘albums’ anymore, as Youtube has about a hundred mixes that I play, and HAL is always adding new music to those playlists that is similar, and often has me searching for the artist. Having said that, I have a few hundred CD’s collecting dust in the back room, mostly used CD’s from my youth that I’ve gone searching for. The covers stand the test of time, both as art, and as a nostalgic representation of the devil’s music that claimed my teenage soul. Who doesn’t know this cover?

    Or this one?

I had the albums, and can still remember the ‘new smell’ when ripping off the cellophane, and the thrill of pulling all the guts out of it: background stories, lyrics, art. Try doing that today with some sucked off online Taylor Swift train wreck of a tune.

    2. I’d go back to graduation, ignore insinuations that I was too stupid for university, and get my Ph.D in medieval history. I’d fund it by joining the army reserves initially, and then would transfer to the regular army as an officer to take advantage of all the educational benefits… and of course I’d bang more quiff.

    3. This could be any Bernini!

    The_Rape_of_Proserpina_1_-_Bernini_-_1622_-_Galleria_Borghese,_Rome

    220px-The_Rape_of_Proserpina_(Rome)

And of course, this was truly beautiful, the fall of the last ISIS stronghold.

    ISIS-surrendering

I’ll be back with comments later. Some great work on here already!

    Game on!

@robert first and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

OMG, you have got that German army down cold! Wow! Well done! I’m such a coward; I don’t know where to start on my 15mm WWII models. It may be Mk IV’s. I’m definitely inspired.

… and of course I always like seeing pics of your yard and flowers!

Your Nurgle stuff is on point too. Make sure you post WIP’s.

@sundancer I’m glad you’re still sharing your project with us. Those buildings are looking better all the time!

@unclejimmy first, HAPPY BIRTDAY! I turned 58 in May and am still too stupid to be let out unsupervised.

“When I was 15 I would fall asleep thinking of the women horse-riders at the farm on a weekend”. Funny how our interests change. A friend of mine recently stated “My wife is hitting her sexual peak and I’m finding out I have a favourite chair.”

Good advice on university! I’m going to get my English Second Language teaching certificate online over winter, and then teach part time while I finish my Masters in Medieval History. If I’ve learned anything in 58 years it’s that knowledge is its own reward… oh… and don’t cook bacon naked.

Would be great to see those Traktor Muls done. I’m guessing Jamie is not so thrilled about them getting table ready.

Also, those buildings rock! You just need to pile turds and garbage in the corners, and maybe a dismembered limb still gripping a small teacup. The interiors look like someone tossed in a WP grenade.

@limburger I’m not a fan of space marines or orks, but I’m sure you’ll turn those models into things of beauty. Keep posting!

If you’re looking for happy happy joy joy there’s a needle dispensary downtown in Winnipeg now, along with a methadone clinic. Everyone there seems pretty happy.

    Now playing:

That was some iconic cover art back in the day.

Good morning everyone. Sorry to start the day on a shitty note, but I have a favour to ask. I heard during the night that a Police Constable has been killed as he investigated a burglary. He was dragged behind/under a car after being run over by another vehicle. They have arrested 10 people including a 13 year-old boy.

To make it worse the Constable was only married 4 weeks ago. RIP PC Andrew Harper. I hope everyone can spare 30 seconds today to send your thoughts.

    _108346569_mediaitem108346568

I never met him, but he put on a uniform and that makes him one of us.

I also found out the Peter Fonda has dies too. The man made a gesture that changed my life.

    See you later, Easy Rider!

@ceppie – slept in again? However, having to ‘work’ while at work is bad enough…so i’ll let you off. What is the point of being in charge if you have to work? The world has gone to pieces. 100pts. (it’s a nervous smile) Is Lye good for the soil? My dad seem to think it isn’t. Beware anyone with a Piggory! I suppose where you live is perfect for serial killers. Could you ever find anything…unless you knew exactly where you were looking?

Well, anything counts, and if you are out doing ‘gaming’ stuff then that counts too. 50pts. I might have a bimble out later – I have the urge for a Peach Melba.

    1. those covers are probably known to everyone! DSotM is totallt iconic…even if you have never heard the music. I came to it late – I was 21 before I heard it all the way through. The Meat Loaf cover is a beauty! 200pts. I had a picture disc of it, but never played it. Picture disc were great fun too – as were ‘shaped’ discs. I have a few about the place. I would never play them as they viynl was never the best quality.

My mother never understood why I would buy 2×12″ versions! Even worse, one day I came home from training and she had been doing some decorating upstairs. I wander into my room to sort my kit out and I find that she had fixed 3 picture disc to the wall with blu-tac. IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT! I almost had a fit.

I never used to take off the wrapping not even when I discovered vinyl sleeves for the covers. I bought them fo everything. My saturday morning aged 13 was this: 1000hrs village stage-coach to the ‘Music Box’ in Blaydon. It takes 20 minutes to get there which leaves you with 25 minutes before the bus gets back at 1045hrs. I had to be back on the next bus or I couldn’t go next week. My mother was a touch protective, but Blydon was as rough as a Badger’s arse.

I had £2 plus my paper round money which would allow me to get a couple of 7″ singles + plastic sleeves or maybe an album. A new album was only £3.99 – £5.99, but other stuff could be bought for £2.50 and they also sold 2nd hand stuff. I bought a copy of the Talking Heads first album for 75p! Then it was back home for excessive playing.

However, even then I was a geeky nerd. I would play the single/album and record it onto cassette (younger people can look it up) so I wouldn’t wear out the vinyl or scratch it. My friend Keith would come with me, but as we got older we would go into Newcastle town centre and trawl all the shops for new sounds.

Inside sleeves were great reading. As autistic nerds we have to read all the notes and have to know who the producers assistant was. Photographs by Fin Costello. That name will trigger someone!

CD’s were great in that you sometimes got a little booklet. I mean, where else would you turn the page and find a picture of Tori Amos breast-feeding a piglett?

    Taylor Swift has nice hands.

This is another important part of society that has gone to the dogs…pop music. When I was a boy (play the Hovis theme) even pop lyrics were interesting and clever. ABBA wrote some of the most amazing ‘pop’ songs ever. Even my grandfather like the music. He said the guy was a pretty good pianist. Well, I think that is what he said! Now, pop music is just about being a f**king brand.

    2. I was with you all the way, until, “…and of course I’d bang more quiff.” 1000pts. Well, back then you would have been “up to your nuts in guts”. I once heard a squaddie say that on a train.

I might go back to the instant when, as a weedy 11 year old, I was spat on by an older boy at school and did nothing. I think, upon reflection, I would have jabbed my right thumb into his left eye, applied the bottom of my left fist to the middle of his nose, and then push the fat bastard over the bannister onto the stone steps below. I would have then let out a massive ululation and jumped after him to at least give him a permanent limp or bit off one of this fat ears. Nothing heavy.

    3. That first picure is amazing. 10000pts! Imagine being able to create something like that? I have spent hours staring at stuff like that.

I wouldn’t joke about your last picture…they will be heading your way (and mine) as soon as they become refugees! That is where your tax money will be going.

That said, you play silly games and you win silly prizes. Drones with missiles rule. 500pts.

Well, at 52, Heather lets me go to the shop by myself, but with a note and I have to keep the money in my glove until I pay.

It is strange you mention sexual peaks and chairs…Heather has just bought a brilliant leather chair for when she has finished decorating!

Don’t cook sausage naked if you have bad eye-sight! 50pts.

The TM’s are almost sorted. Jamie is trying smile in the face of certain death. Template weapons are very nasty in Infinity. They are not good for those expensive Fireteams either.

I am working on making those building more realistic. Most of the little places I have been were lovely places with lovely people. The more ‘civilised’ areas were like dustbins on a very hot afternoon. The people were similar.

Who doesn’t know (or have) that album? Even Heather does and she HATES cock rock.

    @sundancer – I get it, just like “…something, something, Burt Ward!” 100pts.

@limburger – Airborne rule. Remember that only two things fall from the skies…bird shit and Paratroopers! 500pts.

Maybe it is the picture, but I am not too impressed by those PR minis. The most dreadful of movies, but who doesn’t love watching big robots fighting big mosters?

We watched the new Godzilla movie last night. Pretty awesome fight scenes, but the human bits were painful.

What will the game play like? If you have had the time to check it out.

Thanks for the praise and best wishes @ceppie and @unclejimmy I nearly shed a little tear but realised I was chopping onions 🙂 @limburger I had three older sisters so I was always going to age prematurely or that is my excuse anyway.  If I shaved the beard off I would look far younger but it is useful for keeping snacks in!

Been doing a little this morning but also picked up some oil paints for cheap, something more to experiment with.  Also found a new idea for tank camo…

@robert – 3 sisters? Someone used to get dressed-up by them!

As for the beard food…I get it. I went to London to see a magic show and got the coach. We stopped at 1300hrs and I bought an egg & cress sandwich. We got to London about 1700hrs and I had a little wander to where the show was. Show over, quick scoff with 2 Sominex and back to the coach at 2300hrs. Snooze, stop at 0300hrs for a pee and a drink.

Got into the house about 0800hrs the next mornng and Eve says, “Dad, you have got a bit of Cress in your beard!” So, for almost 24 hrs nobody pointed it out. Maybe they thought it was a fashion thing?

Did you get something to thin the oils with? They also take an era to dry properly. Dave says they are the work of the Devil when it comes to painting minis with them. If he was reading this he would have crossed himself! Now that I mention Dave, I think he is over your way this week for some time-off with his girly-friend.

Pretty good camo. Not very mobile though! 200pts. I love finding pictures like this. Things you might never have thought of, but looks great on a mini/model. Do you have a collection on your PC? I have a couple.

That would be a good bit of terrain if you did anything urban. Stalingrad or fall of Berlin maybe?

    Good Morning All!

Time for a quick note before I bundle up all my stuff and head to the store.

RIP Andrew Harper. Our prayers are with you. You’re a hero.

RIP Peter Fonda. Only 77. I guess he didn’t inherit Henry’s longevity genes. Easy Rider was a great flick!

@unclejimmy Lye isn’t good for the soil, but in the absence of a piggory, it gets rid of a body almost as fast. I think the roofers and I have reached an understanding.

Bernini was 23 when he completed that sculpture. Amazing!

Our government is spending $100,000 a head to deprogram all those ISIS clowns coming back home, and keeping tabs on them afterward will cost millions. A well aimed 5.56 ball round costs about $5.00. I’m still available…

    Music to pack by:

Another iconic album cover. For me their music ran off the rails a bit after this.

    Game on everyone! More later!
