Forged In Battle Roll Out New Platoons For The 8th Army & Afrika Corp
March 24, 2016 by brennon
Forged In Battle have added some more platoons to both their 8th Army and Afrika Corp sections of their website. This means more platoons in 15mm for you to snap up and drop into your desert warfare games. Check them out...
8th Army
We'll start with the British and their 8th Army additions. Leading the way is a group of Infantry as a Rifle Platoon with an NCO, LMG as well as chaps with regular rifles.
Following on from them we have both a HMG and Mortar Platoon which give you that little bit more firepower on the tabletop and a way to not only pin enemies down but also blast them out of cover.
Each of these sets are looking great too and will be nice as much needed support alongside the regular infantry. The team at Forged In Battle already do a whole bunch of miniatures to fit this world and theatre of war so keep an eye out for more.
Afrika Korp
Not to be outdone we have the Germans with a similar array of releases starting with the same Rifle Platoon featuring a LMG and NCO...
Matching the British at every step we also have the HMG and Mortar Platoons with their own spin on things. The attention to detail in these miniatures seems spot on and there's plenty to work with here as a painter without them turning into blobs of green and tan on the tabletop.
What do you think of what we're seeing here? I think it's another good avenue into picking up some 15mm models for your tabletop games set during World War II.
Do you like the offerings this month?

@Forged in Battle
It’s Afrikakorps. One word. Not Afrika Corp or Korp. A Korps being an organised body of men. Germanised version of the French word Corps (lat. corpus= body).
As I get older these silly mistakes although totally unimportant drive me nuts. Unprofessional or lazy? Nobody asks you to be fluent in German but it takes 10 seconds to google it if you’re unsure..

Nice sculpts apart from the helmets and a sweet paintjob.
Du sprichst mir aus der Seele 😉
@topic: Nice models but I think the K98s are quite short. The MG34 on the other hand looks really good.
And even better when it is DAK – in the product code ahead on the box making it 2 times the same
nice.
