Mount Up Your Waffen-SS With New Flames Of War Releases
August 14, 2020 by brennon
Battlefront Miniatures continue to show off some more releases for Flames Of War and the Waffen-SS. This time around we've got some armoured elements but also a bit of additional support in terms of some infantry-based artillery too.

The first option is the Armoured SS Panzergrenadier Company HQ which comes with one vehicle and two infantry teams that will work in tandem. This vehicle allowed them to effectively have a moving command centre which meant they could keep an eye on the frontlines and the action going forward. If you're looking to go gung-ho then this would be a good option for your army.
This particular HQ option can then be bolstered by a lot of specialised troops. You can also pick up the SS Panzergrenadier Platoon!

This band of soldiers were absolutely armed to the teeth. Some of them lugged around MG42 machine-guns but they also have plenty more including mortars! This weight of firepower was enough to keep the Allies at bay although they did have to work out how best to carry it into battle. They did have the option to mount up in transports though, some of which you'll have seen in releases before.
Talking of exceptional firepower, you can also get the 8cm SS Mortar Platoon and the 12cm SS Mortar Platoon to protect your advance.

These options are good for providing covering fire. It makes a lot of difference when you're assaulting an enemy position to bombard it from afar first and blast holes in their cover. You could also maybe make a hole in a few pieces of armour too if you were lucky enough.
Ruined Battlefields In A Box
If you're looking for terrain that you can hunker down in then you've also got some of the pre-painted Battlefield In A Box range which is now available. As well as the Flames Of War releases you've also got the Ruined Church and Ruined Buildings.

These would be pretty good for those who are looking to build up the ruins of France during World War II and with a few tweaks, it would be great for Germany and of course elements of the Eastern European Front as well. They have been designed to work with your miniatures with plenty of space inside to put your bases.

Those battlefield in a box look good and would look even better with 10 minutes of weathering.
Does anyone else make 15mm infantry that doesn’t look like Gumby?
Total Battle Miniatures make some excellent terrain in this scale.
perfect for battle of the bulge players.
