The Merkava Rolls Into Battlefront’s Team Yankee Oil War
May 13, 2019 by brennon
Battlefront Miniatures has shared some new releases for those delving into Team Yankee Oil War in more detail. New tanks and troopers have popped up for more of the Middle-Eastern factions.
Leading the way we have the Merkava Tank Platoon. Meaning Chariot in Hebrew, this tank becomes a mainstay element of your fighting force. These tanks were built to be well armoured, protecting the crew and all vital equipment whilst also being speedy and well-armed. They were a very well rounded tank capable of dealing with all sorts of battlefield situations.
Anti-Tank & Anti-Air
Turning our attention to things that can kill tanks we also have the VCR-TH HOT Anti-tank Platoon.
As well as carrying a set of missiles which could lock onto tanks and blow big holes in them these vehicles could also be used as light personnel carriers too, ferrying troops into the heart of the action.
Watching the skies you also have the ZSU-57-2 AA Company. Maybe it would be easier to just name all of these after animals or something like they do in Sci-Fi films?
These big guns could launch some serious shrapnel into the air but they didn't have access to radar so it was hard for them to deal with super fast jets. However, if your enemy is using helicopters these work as a superb deterrent.
Attack Helicopters
Talking of helicopters, a new set has also been branded up for Oil War with the AH-1 Viper Attack Helicopter Platoon.
Complete with a gatling gun for obliterating infantry and entrenched positions these helicopters also came with anti-tank rockets and guided missiles. They were not to be trifled with!
Hold That Objective!
As well as these vehicles we also have some more of the important infantry options for your force.
The Mech Infantry Platoon comes armed with all sorts of special weapons which can be used to hold important objectives. Rocket launchers, machine guns, guided missiles and more are available to you, making them a force to be reckoned with.
What do you make of these new releases?

Nice releases.
TH HOT begone!
brilliant models.
looking at using Israeli infantry for the Mercians in my Project Bob’s fictional countries
Though will probably stick to Soviets for Volgans as it fits my idea of background
One advantage of fictional countries is I can showhorn some of above into the two armies TOE’s
IDF is going to be looking good once I get them painted up. With the promise of a Unit Card Pack coming later it will be easier to add in and change over those great Nato units.
