Team Yankee Boxed Sets Revealed & Snap Up Some Objective Markers Too
November 9, 2015 by brennon
If you want to grab yourself a copy of the Team Yankee Boxed Sets from Battlefront for their new take on Flames Of War then you're in luck as they are now available to pre-order. You can pick up both the American Bannon's Boys...
...and the Soviet Potneckov's Bears. Both of these sets contain a fair amount of vehicles for you to use in your games including those fantastic attack helicopters for both sides.
If you pre-order then you will also get yourself a set of objective markers for use in the game. If you have your set come the launch weekend of November 27th 2015 then you can join in at home when we do the Boot Camp here at the studio.
Which of these sets will you be getting?

Dam, the price has put me off, was so looking forward to this as well. Think I’ll wait for some game play vids for this before I take the plunge.
I am so friggin tempted….to buy both boxes. But I need to see the rules and if they are any good.
thought these were starter sets, my bad. If they are add ons to a starter sets, very nice indeed.
Sweet!
Due to my acute Horus Heresy and my persisting Bolt Action addiction I will give ’em a miss.
Probably get some individual tanks later tho 😎
Odd that there isn’t any infantry in the army box?!
Btw, is the infantry plastic as well or metal?
the tanks look well detailed but I think the soviet’s will have the advantage in the air.
Yup not playing Team Yankee, ridiculous price for 5 tanks and 2 choppers
Now that you said it I compared prices to PSC latest army boxes and for comparsion:
75 Pounds at Battlefront:
9 T-72 Tanks
2 Hint Choppers
75 Pounds at PSC:
7x Sherman M4A1’s Tanks
5x M4A1’s 76mm Tanks
3x Stuart M5A1’s Tanks
5x M3 Halftracks
29x Riflemen
4x M1917 MG teams
4x M1919 MG teams
4x M2 HMG teams
4x Basooka teams
4x 80mm mortar teams
4x 120mm mortar teams
2x mixed base sprues.
If you pre-order this set before 13th November you will recieve 1x Vallejo US paint set FREE!
Guess I will think my plan over…
I just bought basically the whole Soviet Army equivalent from Zvezda (admittedly minus the Hinds) for 70 bucks. These T-72s will have the reactive armor panels as well. Mwahaha! 😀
…’basically’ – tut-tut!
Oh, that’s right. The “B” word. Sorry ’bout that. 🙂 Just making the point that in all honesty, hadn’t bought the Hinds and hadn’t bought the transfers.
Damn, now I know where this one is from : D : D : D it swirls in my eears and before my eyes… b..ba… basi… nooooooooooooooooo !!!
Most of my armys consist of PSC models, but thats only because very few places stock battlefront models here. Im seriously tempted to start a U.S force now. Thanks for the heads up
…too right! I’ll wait to see how it plays during the boot camp weekend – not convinced it will just be a watered-down FoW.
It is a shame the price point is too high, I was interested in the cold war theme and rules.
They seem to have pitched the price in a similar price bracket as what is on the market now individually but I would have thought that they would have dropped the price a bit for a starter set.
One thing to note is that these aren’t so much starter sets but rather army deals. Don’t expect the same amazing deal as the Open Fire starter, which is probably sold at significantly smaller profit margins, if they’re making profit off it at all. Launching these sets like that would simply be too risky financially. Based on model size, these are still a fair bit cheaper than an equal number of similarly-sized models from BF, like the Pershing instead of the Abrams. Abrams/T-72s are quite a bit larger than most WW2 tanks (like Shermans) and the helicopter kits (especially the… Read more »
wished they went with “Endwar” setting… more options around the globe
So this is not made by battle front who makes flames of war? I really don’t know but this looks cool.
It is cool and i like the realistic approach to a 3rd WW but sadly it’s far out of my price range.
Revell have just released some 1/144 scale modern German kit. Be interesting if they follow it up with other nations

I read Team Yankee about a year after it was published.
I used to play 1:300 scale modern but no time for that now (too many other things going on) and certainly NOT paying BF prices for modern stuff.
The next time I complain about the price of GW plastic please feel free to shove one of the sets up each of my nostrils.
That’s some expensive plastics!!
Yeah, too expensive for my wallet. Was looking forwards to this but not spending £125 plus I think it’s about £15 for the rulebook for a 2 player intro set. Open Fire is crazy crazy value, but about £100 for 2 starter armies and rules is where the limit is for me for a new system. Anything more is too much of a risky investment.
I’ve read the next releases after these will be January with a company box of BMP’s coming in at£30
I think it will be 5 vehicles in a coy
