Tanks Trundle Over New Flames Of War Cobblestone Town Squares

Looks like Warren won't have to worry about making cobblestone streets himself as Battlefront has designed some new Flames Of War Cobblestone Town Square tiles.
The set comes with two of these Town Squares for you to use when trying to build up a more urban landscape on the tabletop. They'd work just as well in World War II as they would in later conflicts like Team Yankee.
The designs are simple with both a circular design and a second with a more standard pattern. You just need to make sure that you work on adding some debris and rubble onto the streets to make them less of a killing ground. Or, conversely, you could leave them quite plain as an interesting risk and reward option.
What do you think of the tiles?

Hmmm – £20 for both squares isn’t too bad compared to the cost and effort of doing it yourself. The only issue I have is the raised nature of them, unless they’re ‘mounted’ on some walls or similar – looks like you really need the cobbled streets.
Was looking at the new FoW 4th Ed rulebook(s) this evening… looks like it could be a lot of fun!
I’m curious how well these would work in other scales. FoW is 15mm right? Could you see these working with 28mm instead?
Cobbles and Setts come in all sorts of sizes in the real world. Looking at the pictures the cobbles look quite big to the 15mm scale (more like paving stones); so I could see these working very nicely with various 28-35mm games, especially if they DO have a bit of elevation about them
– Malifaux
– Carnevale (with the ‘streets’ making some nice plazas/alleys/canal sides)
– Batman etc
If I remember correctly, Warren wanted to get some 15mm stuff with cobble stone on their bases. So this will work quite well for that and save John a lot of trouble.
These do look neat and I have to keep an eye on them when I get some spending cash.
I use the road sections for Bolt Action and they look fine. I will be picking up a few of these.
Concur, these would work fine in 28 mm also just like the roads which I use. I’m definitely getting this set.
