Stripes Pre-Orders Kick Off For Team Yankee
November 2, 2017 by brennon
If you're looking to expand on your Team Yankee experience then Battlefront is on the case with Stripes which expands the US forces that are getting involved in conflicts across the world in this Cold War Gone Hot.
Bringing new forces into the mix as well as updated rules for your forces on the tabletop this does for the US what the pre-existing book did for the Soviets from the same period.
One of the big releases for Stripes is the HammerFall Box which gives you an introduction into the world of Team Yankee and gives you a few tanks to face off against each other with.
As well as giving you the core rulebook you'll also get an introductory book which guides you through what to expect with Team Yankee and give you a good indication of the game mechanics.
New Pre-Orders
As well as the main HammerFall box there are also plenty of other options for those who are already indoctrinated into Team Yankee. A new set, Ryan's Leathernecks, gives you a whole host of different vehicles - most of which are fast, enabling you to strike the enemy before they know what has hit them.
In addition to that set, you can look forward to the Huey Helicopter Platoon...
...HMMWV Platoon and even the mighty Abrams Tank Platoon.
There's more for you to check out as well but you can see that over on their Pre-Order Page where you can also check when each of the new plastic sets is going to be available.
Make sure to delve in and let us know what you're looking forward to from this new set of releases.
Are the Americans for you?

sounds interesting, intriguing to see how the hummers fair in a game of team yankee
They’ll probably be a way to field a cheap anti-tank horde against the massed T55s and BMPs that tend to make up Warsaw Pact Lists in tournaments.
They’ll also be another AA option in the US arsenal, along with VADS, Chaparall, and Sgt York.
I am hoping for plastic American infantry and the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle. Two “must haves” for this release!
EM-50 has been seen, but probably only as a limited special release. Based on a conversation I had with John Matthews at Origins this year, all of the infantry for Team Yankee (and FoW) will eventually move to plastic, but things are a bit behind. Soviets just got their plastics which were supposed to be out with the rest of the Red Thunder Releases. Part of that is hold-up from the Initial release of the Desert Rats British infantry which weren’t up to snuff. The Marine Rifle platoon, coming in January, will be plastic according to the Battlefront Online Store.
No, they are metal.
I am surprised the leathernecks box has hummers and not 113/APCs for a Nam cross box.
None of the starter forces have Infantry, at least not yet. The Soviet Box that includes BMP’s uses them in a recon capacity which, at least for now, is not something the M113 does.
However, the HMMWV box is intended to be multi-role in the game, with options for anti-tank with TOW missiles, Anti-air with Stingers and recon with .50 Cal MGs.
Can’t wait to expand my American forces. With my plans for my eastern bloc armies this is going to be exciting, especially with a Iceland board.
Looking forward to this.
Next to a resurgent 40k, Team Yankee is the game getting the most of my attention currently. I finally managed to get a few friends interested enough to give it a try. I’m very glad to see the Americans getting an expansion to keep up with the releases from Red Thunder.
